He may not have been everyone's cup of tea, but Kurt Cobain was a big part of my music growing up. Seems as though my local station (and I'm sure others) is doing a lot to remember the day he shot himself..

Do you remember where you were? Not exactly JFK...but..

I had listened to Smells Like Teen Spirit in highschool...but really listened to them when I moved out on my own for the first 6 months. My roommates and I used to spend late nights listening to Sabbath and Nirvana. One was a huge fan.

I moved to Vancouver in 1994 and shortly after setting up there I heard it on the news. Quickly wrote my ex roommate after hearing it.

I write this because I'm listening to the black greatest hits album now. :)

In the car, the radio station interrupted with the bad news.

I was 15 hanging out with my brother in front of a friend and his sister's store..when it came over the radio...everything just got quiet.

...sorry for hijacking the thread Jay..back to Kurt Cobain.

West Coast G-Funk rap was mostly what my friends and I listened to back in those days, so although I might've heard about it on evening news it didn't really have an impact on us (no offense to Cobain/Nirvana fans).

No worries. Not everyone's cup of tea. I was into about everything at that time..punk, "grunge", hip hop (great canadian artists back then)

What is an "older man"?
1 year? 5 years? 25 years?
I've heard mature man used as a euphemism for an independently wealthy but ugly guy (not saying anything about anyone in particular).
