Being black unfortunately some of that history was lost to separation, so I don't know much more than that. I do know one of my great-grandmothers was a full blood Cherokee which I guess makes me something like 1/8 of that. And there's probably caucasian mixed in there somewhere but who knows.

I plan to trace my roots someday but it's expensive heh.

3rd Circle? Wouldn't most people on Hung Angels be from the 2nd Circle or the 7th? I see a lot of the Lustful and a hell of a lot of sodomites but not too many gluttons.

2nd Generation Italian. 3 of my grandparents were from Sicilia (Catania and Palermo), another grandparent is from Sorrento, Napoli.

I was able to trace back almost 4 generations. 2 of my great-grandparents were a big part of the italian unification process in Italy.

When my family migrated to the US, some of my grandfather's cousins went to Argentina. While doing research I was able to track down relatives in Buenos Aries and also in Sydney, Australia.

I applied and will be granted dual citizenship with Italia in the next few months.

Ellisisland.com, genealogy.com and myitalianfamily.com is what I used as well as info from all of my grandparents.

Weird thing is that I undertook this last year because I felt a sense of urgency to do it, and when I completed it, a few months later 3 of my grandparents died weeks apart.

I haven't been able to go back more than 2 generations. My surname comes from Scotland, but the rumors of Dad's heritage are a hodge-podge muttmix of European subethnicities spanning the immigration waves of the 19th century. There's also rumors of Sioux in my grandma, & her features seem to bear that out, but there's just no records anywhere & her surname is ethnically ambiguous.

On the other side, Mom's from Puerto Rico. The Church in her home town caught fire in the '30s, & a lot of records were lost going back hundreds of years. So we're back to rumors since nobody can seem to track beyond her sibling line & parents who were married in the 1890s. I look white & so does she, but my relatives (I'm 1st cousin to all of them + removals) include every shade & hair texture. That's visible in the old pictures too.

So, what am I? Who the hell knows. Since ethnic mix equates to bragging rights in the United States, I win more often than not because I can just shrug & say: "Hey, I lost count."

Ummm

Welsh - where I get my "Lets get trashed on Jameson and write depressing poetry" Side

French - Where I get my "I will make you a crepe with a seasonal fruit liquour sauce that will make you Cum in your coffee in the morning side." its my moms recipe.

Austrian - Where I get my "If only I could yodel and ski like my grandma did in the Tyrollian Alps side"

Native American - Cherokee and Ojibwa Where I get my "OKAY so your telling me I cant open a casino and serve weak drinks at the craps table!! WHY I used to OWN this nation buster!!!! Side"

So yeah I am an American whose grandfathers used to run liqour across the border during prohibition and the other one owned a Whorehouse and bar in Northern Wisconsin for the lumberjacks.

Cheers and Viva la Melange,

Astrid:)

Tralee is a nice enough town but socially it isnt as appealing as Killarney, Killarney is buoyed by tourism, whereas industry and commerce would be a major factor in Tralee. There is quite high unemployment and a high amount of traveller people (Irish Gypsies). I have stayed in Tralee for quite a while and there are alot of deadbeats who drink, fight and do drugs. There are high cases of mental illness in the community and also domestic violence. But of course there are exceptions- i have met some lovely folk from there and some well educated lads and lasses. Tralees sister city is Oakland, California (maybe some sort of link)?
