Smooth Jazz is like the Diet Coke of Jazz. No, more like the Diet Fanta of Jazz or whatever generic thing is sold at Aldi.

Distilled down to nothing, with no passion, soul or heart, absolutely nowhere close to the original.

I'm not a fan.

HEY!

There's nothing like some Grover Washington, Jr. playing while being intimate with a girl. Listen to his "Winelight" album!

Even Miles did some smooth jazz late in his life.

As a bit of a serious Jazzhead, what is termed "Smooth" is an anathema to me.
Think Kenny G.
Ok sorry don't, you may puke.
You get my drift.
