I truly believe that Maury has showed enough about "Is it a Boy or a Girl" type of shows. I have not yet seen a show in which the reality of a Transgender/transexual woman/men is exposed along with the up and downs of trying to adapt to a society that has not been educated on the issue. No SRS surgeons, no endocrinologists, no Psychiatrist, no Plastic Surgeons and nothing about the difficult times for a ts to find a regular job even when you have the education. We all know the difference between a transvestite/drag queen and a transgender/ts person but it seems that to society still the same thing (all falls under the Gay umbrella) Education on the matter is the key to a more acceptable society.

And you are totally right....it has to start with the community wanting to change the Stereotype! The media tends to capitalize on stereotypes! And I did watched the Tyra TG show, but the thread was not referring to all the shows. For that matter the latin channel Univision have had more educational shows on TS community with Don Fransico Show than any other talk show, but that would be a whole different thread!

I know it's a little iffy the whole "BoY" thing for the t girls who go on the show but the truth is it's done in a way where the girls are portrayed as sexy so it's not totally negative.

Oh and the formula on the show is if they are wearing an obvious wig then it's a gg trying to look like a t.

I'm sorry but for the ones bitching about the show. Come on its a show for comedy and a good time. Not to change the world. My lord, fine you don't like how it portrays transsexuals WHY DID YOU WATCH IT? Don't support it? I had a lot of fun on the show. I wish they would of showed the parts of where guys in the audience were flirting with me, instead of during the commercial where the guy says I don't want to say what sex it is etc I have pics with him and quite a few other guys that were hitting on me after the show they asked me to come down from the green room to take pics. It was a fun experience not a bad one.
