Here are the qualifying differences as to whether I will pursue a poster, at this, or any other forum aggressively for something they have posted concerning me, or conversely, ignore their posting(s), which is generally the case 98 percent of the time, viewing the latter simply as minor annoyances based on differences of opinion or POV that are part of any forum's topography and which don't warrant a response or second thought once the exchanges have been exhausted.

Using this case as an example, the poster not only injected himself in exchanges I was having with another poster at the time when I was having differences with her, but also made charges and assumptions about me which he couldn't possibly know about, back up, and were outright falsehoods. He later would compound things by making disparaging bigoted implications about my race -- my race! He took our prior differences to a whole new ugly level and I was not going to take it, particularly when he pulled out the race card.

Unlike the poster in this case, who hides in anonymity, I have stepped out and have actually met a few posters from this and a couple of other TS forums, so yes, a person's honor -- my honor -- and reputation are at play when something negative or disparaging has been directed about them.
Despite the sordid questionable source in this case, sometimes what is said about one demands that one set the record straight to any out there in the real world who might want to assign a kernel of truth to it. I am not about to let anyone lie about me, or worse, disparage my race (something I cannot change if I wanted to).

Now a question for you: How many posters from this forum have you personally met, 2009AD, and how would you respond in their company if I were to make false charges or allegations about you on this forum for everyone to see, or made disparaging remarks about your race? See how it all changes to some degree once you've met people from a forum in person? See the nuance at play here for this particular case? It's no longer about two anonymous posters anymore once one has stepped out and met people. The rules have changed. ... Hey, you brought up "honor" and rolling eyes.

Its the cycle of HA.

People get crazy. Someone flips out. E-mails, inboxes, text messages are sent.
I log in, get pissed off. Delete a bunch of threads, ban a bunch of jerks, make this post. Things calm down for a few weeks then wash, rinse, repeat.

It's our version of the "The Swallows of San Juan Capistrano".

I'm going to guess that this time, the "crazy" isn't really going to decrease that much. Prior cycles you guys have identified and banned the obvious, derail-every-thread troublemaker, and this time you didn't. So the "shit that is making us start to see gray hairs" (as JW put it) will stay about the same.
