This is a quote from an Aussie newspaper 'The Age 10feb 09'
It is feared that Terrorists may be behind some of the Victorian fires.
US intelligence monitored messages in which a fundamentalist group spoke of a 'forest jihad' where they will burn the infidels forests and watch their homes and families burn.
The message said it would cause economic damage and see troops recalled from Iraq and Afghanistan to fight the fires!
....Whether or not this is an accident or accidents ie. thoughtless people throwing cig butts out onto the dry grass or if it was the doing of an extremist group as forementioned is unsure as yet...the investigation continues....remembering that 88 Aussies were killed in the 2002 Bali bombings (whether or not they were the intended targets is another thing..)
