This is mostly a question to the webmasters/photographers of the various porn sites but it would be cool to hear from the average amateurs as well. I know a huge amount can come into effect with the finished product (lighting, airbrushing, photoshop adjustments, the model, angles, etc...) but I would like to know what some of you guys use as your foundation. I recently saw some pictures from shemales revenge in particular that I was very impressed with. I also really like the stuff Amateur Allure produces.

I currently use a Canon EOS 20D with the lens that came with the camera (although I just purchased the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II to replace it). I was also considering buying the Tamron AF 28-75mm f/2.8. It has great reviews and doesnt cost an insane amount like Canon's L Series lenses. In a perfect world I would love to upgrade my camera to the Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III but I dont have the 6+ grand that it costs. The Canon EOS 5D Mark II also looks nice but it is also way out of my budget.

I use a Nikon DSLR, with an 18-200mm Vr lens.
I'm looking to get some studio lights next if i can find some at a decent price.

For porn you want wide angle/short focal length, small/light lenses because what you want is to get in as close to the action as possible. Don't get "big dick" syndrome (i.e. look how big my lens is), it will only weigh you down and get in your way.

If your shooting portrait you made a good buy on the 50m. My personal favorite is the 85mm 1.2 L, also the 70-200mm 2.8 L really captures a nice image. Recently picked up the 24-70 2.8 L with my 5DII, shot one wedding so far and was very pleased with it. Becoming a favorite combo.

Canons L series cost a bit of money, but there is a dang good reason for it. You will never capture the same quality image on Tamron.

Yeah. I know the Tamron wont be as good. Hell it is about 1/4 the cost. I'm just looking for an upgrade from what I already own.

I have looked at both the 24-70 2.8 L and the 70-200mm 2.8 L in the past but they are still a bit out of my price range. It is nice to see what kind of images they can produce though. The pictures that steves-digicams took with the 70-200 in particular were really impressive. If I ever photograph a sporting event where the action is far away I think I will have to upgrade to that. The 24-70 would be a dream everyday lens for me but I just dont feel comfortable spending $1,0000. Even though that is half what the lens started out costing.

Well I just got a new toy today. I finally upgraded my memory card. Having 8 gigs is going to be awesome. I will probably go through 2 batteries before I need to clear space on the card. Its amazing how much the price has come down. I remember when a 1 gig card was around $90 and the 8 gig cards were $300.
