Are you mourning or celebrating? I think Chris Rock said it best; Bush fucked up so bad, even a white guy couldn't win! All joking aside, Barak Obama is the 44th president, and I voted for him. I hope things get better.

A legacy is what you leave behind, so we will be dealing with the mess that is the Bush Legacy long after he leaves office. :(

I couldn't agree with you more Felicia. I think the word "mess" sums up the past eight years perfectly.

A lot of people said Obama was not ready for President.
I personally wish him the best and hope he does better then Bush.

Two weeks.
Still time for one great big, last clusterfuck.

C'mon, you know part of you wants him to!

I've actually been feeling my first bit of pity for him in the last few weeks, seriously.

Only time will tell it was a horrible, abject failure because Bush and his crew never would. Even now, they refuse to concede any mistakes. They managed to do the impossible, to make things worse in the middle East. Now they say only History should judge them, because just about everyone else already has found them guilty.

All I can say is give Obama a chance. People should stop hating on him before he even starts the job. Not related, but I kinda felt that way when USC hired Pete Carroll.

I agree that people should give Obama a chance, although I didn't vote for him. Bush wasn't a bad president. The only thing that seem to get people wild up was the war. America got attacked and since then there hasn't been any attacks. Bush legacy will not be looked at as being bad, but it won't be looked at as great either.

This is not showbiz politics or sports this is reality. Obama has proved since day 1 when he became a junior senator he was not for the people. His voting record proves he is a corporate candidate. Why did wall street invest so heavily in Obama? Plain and simple because he is their man and he will bow before his corporate paymasters when they come knocking on his door. Obama has turned his back on a 100 million poor people.

If you're a hedge fund manager, or a Big Oil Exec, or CEO of a company that enjoys military funding, you will be sad to see W go, because he made you rich through laissez faire policy, tax cuts, and an oil war. And you just hope that foreign entities who own trillions in debt don't panic and sell their dollars before you die. (What a disgrace !!)

But the rest of us ordinary folks will be happy to see if Obama can do better. I don't think he can do worse.

Actually you're probably a Clinton lover who was actually IMPEACHED. Why don't you quit your bong smoked induced psycho babble and realize that it's not president Bush that fucked things up. It's all you retards on welfare that try to buy houses and the others who don't even know what a savings account is.

Well, I agree we can't blame Bush for everything, but we can blame him for his share. Take for example the financial meltdown. From what I've read, investors and hedge funds were taking huge risks and inflating a credit bubble destined to burst. Better government regulation would have helped. For example, to require more capital from banks (of all kinds) and insurance companies to back up their "gambling". Also, mortgage lenders should be required to suffer the first losses, instead of packaging their mortgages into CDOs with various "tranches" or risk/reward and selling these to investors. I'll admit I'm not a financial expert, but it seems regulation was too lax under Bush -- although the problem's origins goes way back in time and there's lots of blame to go around.

This is the same country that was fooled by and voted Bush to the highest ranking office, not only once, but twice! The lies he and Cheney, Rumsfeld and Powell touted in attempt to gain support to defy the UN to invade Iraq should have been scrutinized before tipping the country into a downward spiral. The sensless war in Iraq will end up costing over 3 Trillion dollars after the interest is factored in..... It was all borrowed money.

Bush supporters argue that we haven't been attacked since 911. Maybe so, but every morning at 6 AM my grandfather fires his shotgun in the air 3 times to keep the elephants away. It must be working because there haven't been any elephants around.

Sorry, I gave Bush a clear chance.

Anyone who is defending him still OBVIOUSLY voted for him twice and is living in denial of their guilt in the complicity of putting him in office.

I mean, that Os-bama picture. How retarded can you get?

Oooh, that sells me in Obama being terrible. Forget how Bush trainwrecked this country (just like everything he's done in his life, btw - from baseball teams to oil companies) but go all over that "liberals are the devil incarnate" Rush Limbaugh braindead cliche.

I am a libertarian, being a billion times more 'conservative' than Bush was and utterly confident that he is THE worst president this nation has ever had.

Actually THE worst thing in this nation is people with your misinformed state of mind. O lets all blame president Bush...just like everything else is this country. Why do you think everyone sues everyone in this country? Because no one wants to take the blame...they want a scape goat. It's morons like you that make Bush public enemy #1.

How did Bush train wreck the country? Do you have specific examples? No because all you do is go back to the bailout, financial meltdown, etc that weren't his fault. Try reading up on the House of Reps and the Senate work. All of those issues were because CEO's were smarter than they were ethical. Go get on your soap box when you actually know a thing or two about how a free market economy and the government works.

I do believe, gr4phic4rtist08, it was Bush who announced the “ownership society” and put the program in motion that would make everyone a home owner.
It could be [the fact] that Bush appointed federal regulators, who didn't believe in regulation and who approved the use of nonsensical financial tools and derivatives had something to do with our current economic predicament.

You want specific examples? Patriot Act 1 and 2,which gives the government the right to go thru your financial records, your medical records, your email, your regular mail, tap your phone, intercept your cell calls, with 0 oversight or judicial permission needed. The severe overweighting of the Executive Branch, making the checks and balances on which our country is based a joke. The Military Commissions Act of 2006, which makes it ok for the government to take anyone they want and put them in a hole with no legal redress to their situation, just to accuse someone of being a terrorist is enough. RIP Habeus Corpus. The MCA also had a rider tacked onto it making it impossible to prosecute anyone in the Bush Administration for war crimes, now you dont tack shit like that on unless you know you committed war crimes.
George W Bush shat all over the constitution, he shat all over our reputation, and he shat all over our economy. He turned our nation from one of the most popular into one of the most hated nations on earth, he started wars based on lies and propaganda that suited his purposes, he offered nothing but lies, produced no results, turned the largest surplus into the largest deficit ever, borrowed more money than every other president of the US combined, raped our constitution, and laughed his ass off doing it.
/facepalm to douchebags like you, team sport politicos who blindly mouth the rhetoric of ersatz dictators.

anyone who believes that 1 man controls a 10 trillion dollar economy is a moron, sure his policies can guide it and Bush screwed up by not cutting the spending. the congress, both democrat and republican legislators have been paying thier constituants off with pork with our money. bush screwed up the war, bush screwed up katrina, as did the people running louisiana, but there is enough blame to go around to all our wonderful politicians and greedy corporations. obama has a mess on his hands that was some of bush's fault and some that has been building for decades.
