I have been bitching all day that I am sick of shopping and just want the holidays to be over. I feel like I have been going non-stop for the past few weeks. I got home around midnight tonight and have to get up bright and early and do the last minute odds and end, and have been dreading every minute of it.

Then (on a serious note) I was looking through Eros and I see visiting dates like December 22nd - 26th. I think its sad some girls dont have family or friends to spend the holidays with. I couldn't imagine spending my Xmas stuck in some dirty hotel room sucking cock and ordering Domino's Pizza.

It makes me sad and my heart goes out to those less fortune.

Very poignant posting, Julie. Yes, it is kind of heart wrenching to read about what some women must go through in holiday times such as these. Remember also, that one need not be an escort, and thus touring in a strange city in a cold motel room during this holiday season to feel alone or isolated. I feel the crux of your post, though.

The reason I said escort and am thinking of transsexuals is because that is my world and that could be me.

I don't know. I thought that it was more likely that hey just wanted to be in NYC for the holidays and hang out with some friends while also getting paid.

Maybe they charge time and a half, you know, working on a holiday!

ya I think the holidays are a time to be grateful, we all get caught up in the commercial part of presents and what not and the true meaning is often forgotten.

I think a good New Years resolution is to work towards not being sad. Or mad. Which I am, but I'm dealing with it.

There's also the possibility that some are visiting their families (while trying to pick up some cash as well)..just a possibility...merry xmas!

On the other hand, I spent the first Thanksgiving *without* my family this year (just me & girlfriend), and I had no idea how freaking awesome that could be.

No going back now. Avoiding the family on Xmas, didn't buy a single gift for anyone. I had to make that choice, and I'm deliriously happy about it.

It's almost like being part of some radical subculture after you transition out of the standard socially-expected roles, hmmmm :)

Not to rain on this pity parade, but has it ever occured to anyone that Christmas is a Christian holiday? An even then not all Christian religions celebrate it on December 25th?

Furthermore there are many persons who have to work, escorting or otherwise on Christmas day. Some even volunteer to work for various reasons, not including those who will get time and half, or day and one half over time pay.

While we are at it, the meaning of Christmas is not totally about giving gifts and or spending time with family/loved ones; though that is nice. The day/season is about remembering the birth of Jesus Christ and what that event meant to mankind.

There are people who spend the day on their knees in prayer or performing acts of good will and kindness for others.

Suppose it is bad for anyone not to spend any holiday with family and or friends, there are many other persons who out of their own choice, or for other reasons do not spend the holiday with family/friends. At least the escorts working are doing something.

One could also add at least the girls working are adding something to their purse. From what one hears from "working girls" Christmas day can be VERY good. Especially in major cities like New York. Again, you have lots of people who do not celebrate the day (one reason movie houses are always packed), coupled with the fact some hoes take the day off. More for those that do work.

Considering the current economic times, and forecasts for a grim 2009, can't say I blame anyone trying to make extra money.
