It's been known for some time that Christina Kahrl, who writes for Baseball Prospectus, is a transsexual. The interesting news of the day is that she was just promoted to be part of the select group of writers who vote for candidates of the Baseball Hall of Fame on an annual basis.

Another TS breaks into the mainstream, at a high level. Seems like good news for the community.

Congratz to Christina!

No problems here. I just wish some of those writers would vote Steve Garvey in already!

I have absolutely no respect left whatsoever for the Hall of Fame voters. Not after shafting Ron Santo again. Same goes for the Veteran's Committee. Honestly, I'm still so pissed about this... I get irrational when I think about it, so I don't want to go off on a full-out rant, but not voting Ron Santo into the Hall is fucking criminal.

That's the thing... the new writers like Kharl, Neyer, Law, etc., are a helluva lot brighter than the old ancient decrepit year after year codger voters who have screwed up the Hall. Over all, I agree with you. The HoF is probably past the point of no return in being an accurate gauge of who the best players of all time were.

But still...

The Baseball HoF still has some cachet. Canton Football HoF is a cut below, and no one cares about any other HoF.

Willie... thx for posting her pic. I didn't know what she looked like. Seems like she's passable.

congrats to Christina.....

don't want to turn this into a rant against the baseball voters but you have your passion for Santo, but take a look at Jim Rice's numbers as compared to Santo.

Pete Rose absolutely, unequivocally should be in the HoF, but that doesn't mean that Santo shouldn't be in immediately, or for that matter, any point over the last decade. And Bud Selig is a fuckwit regarding anything that isn't related to the business side of the MLB.
