Tomorrow all the gay people all over the US especially California are urged to call in "Gay" to work. This is in protest of the recent vote on Prop-8. They picked tomorrow because December 10 is International Human Rights Day, which is the perfect day.

In other news, Eros TS section in NY and LA has only 2 listings squeduled for tomorrow...

Is that for escorts only because i feel if someone had a real job and called in "gay" that wouldn't have a job the next day.

I don't think a company can fire out someone for being GAY..That would be discrimination and they could be sued. lol ;)

I didn't mean they would be fired for literally being gay but as a legit reason for missing work like if someone called in to say they wouldn't be in for work because they are black or white it just sounds kind of crazy and not a legit reason for not coming in.I don't think this is the route people should be going.

I see what you're saying Legend. The thing though is, there are a lot of GAY people though not everyone is OUT so I suppose This GAY work strike would only work if they get everyone to call in for the much needed impact they needed. I recall a few months back there was a Illegal Immigration work strike. Same problem, not every illegal worker participated. ;)

this isnt going to happen... not anywhere needed on the level to even make a blip

and you could easily be fired for calling in "gay" to work

esp if youre in texas or any other "right to work" state

these are tough times, look around... you call in for some stupid bs and lil pedro is going to take your job the min you hang up the phone and turn the rainbow lights on for the day off party

I would have to agree. A lot of people need jobs right now and this is not the right time to turn down work, but then again, if you get sick pay it should be ok... I suppose.

im not working or shopping tomorrow

but only bc i just spent 2k at the mall on monday so im kinda shopped out lol

the whole protest is so dumb

most fags arent out at work and so asking them to not show up to work is like asking them to come out of the closet

aint gonna happen... those mary's arent that proud

it is a good idea and even if it only gets partial participation, it will let people know how prevalent and important this community is. I'm sure a lot of the Prop 8 people don't realize how many people they work with and interact with were directly impacted by their hatred, or the impact those people have on their lives and businesses.
