Announcing the Tranny AWards 2008 sponsored by Grooby.com!

With the lack of recognition that the transgender erotica industry gets, Grooby Productions, the leader
in transgender erotica content for over 10 years decided to sponsor awards specific to our industry.
The 2008 Awards, will be online only but depending on the demand and popularity of the award, we may consider future awards
to be held at a live venue.

Timeline.

10th Dec. Deadline for pre-nominations from industry and members of public.
12th Dec. Nominations to be announced in each category and judges to begin their determination.
09th Jan. Winners to be announced.

Judges.
A panel of 7 invited judges from industry and fans will vote for their favourite in each category.
The judges will not be announced until the awards are given and the judges will not know who the other judges are, until that time.
The voting record of each judge will not be announced, only the winner in each category.

To be eligable for a nomination, the model must have worked for a site or DVD during the 2008 calander year, the DVD must have been released during the same time span or the website had to be operation for at least 4 months of the year.

1. Best TS Model from N.American/European (internet)

2. Best TS Performer in a DVD.

3. Best non-TS Performer in a TS scene.

4. Best DVD Release.

5. Best TS Model from Asia.

6. Best TS Model from S.America.

10. Best free TG orientated website.

Thanks for the feedback. I don't think 10 is too many but I've changed 1, 5 and 6 to Best Model which is really what I meant. The Asian models (Ladyboy websites) and South American ones shouldn't be competitive with the N.American as they are completely different markets and fans.

The "Best non-TS Performer" - well I care for one and the amount of smack talked about them on the boards, it would seem others would also - I think it's relevant that they get recognition.

I don't want to put best website design as really it would bring in the bigger pay sites which isn't something I want. As an example for websites:

This is just a graphic for the website. I fail to see what the difference would be in putting a flaccid or an erect penis - they both would be classless - or they both would be fun. As it is for Transsexual Adult Erotica, an erection would seem appropriate (how many TS pornstars apart from Buck Angel don't get erections?). Either way, this is meant to be light-hearted and as those "others" already treat our niche with distaste, we may as well do it our way.



Best South America, Best Europe, best Asia best this best that... It should be " Transsexual Performer of the year "

Some clarification is needed here as a few people have made that mistake.
The best Performers are in a production from that area.
Best South American - are for models in Brazil, Argentina etc shooting in those countries.
Best N.American.... - is for Best in that area regardless of race or background. eg; Yasmin Lee is Asian but she would fall into the N.American category.
Best Asian ... for "ladyboy" sites ie; Areeya, Mint, etc.

The fans and the customers on some likes are often polarised eg: those who like all-American TS's cannot stand the ladyboy type sites and vice-versa, it therefore makes sense to appreciate that they are different and have the judges award accordingly.

Why have an award for a non-TS performer?
I just dont get it.
Almost ALL....no ALL non -TS performers work in some other adult genre.
There have been MANY scenes that TG's appearred in for straight productions and there NEVER was any discussion about recognizing them.
The TS awards at the AVN arent taken seriously by AVN or anyone else for that matter......why bestow any credibility to these Non-TS performers in light of that?
Read this forum Mr.grooby.....the guys,me included really only care about the TS's.
Im trying to be rational here.
If your awards take off and become and institution they SHOULD be fair and gain respect and recognition from the TRANSGENDER community and should not be diluted with non-TS AWARDS.

How can someone who owns and produces so much TS content be remotely seen as fair.
Even though the AVN's are mostly bullshit at LEAST it isnt a company involved in making porn.

Perhaps you should look to getting together a consortium of influencial people in the TS porn Community to do this....like a panel.
There can be composed of TG's,journalists,photographers(Im think Bob of Bob t-girls fame,ect....
The people voting on the award should NOT be content producers....that way it has some measure of fairness.
If not why do it at all if your going to be the chooser....the decider if you will like our lovely president.

1. Nobody else is going to do it, so it's up to use to launch this.
2. I've already stated the panel of judges will be made up of members of the adult erotica community and fans. They should all be names known to most. I've no categories in their (bar the "Best DVD") that I can win. As non of the judges know whom each other is until after the votes are in - it should be fair.

Do you ever see Michaelangelo paintings or Sculptures of David with erect penis? There is a clear difference, which you fail to see as a PORN producer and man, between art and distasteful representations of a transsexual boy.
