guys who attend the parties come from all different jobs and professions. They will come out for the weekly events in good times and bad. (hence, the term chasers)
From my expierence, there's no big concentration of financial types at t functions.

On a positive note, Sunny and Allanah will find clubs and restaurants much more tgirl friendly as owners scramble to replace lost revenue in a slowing New York City economy.
All my regulary eateries are crying the blues. The bartenders and waiters say everyone's staying home and cooking for themselves

I would have to agree with the last poster in that the economy is hurting all and im kind of suprised some of the girls traveling who have mentioned they cant understand why buis is down. Dont have a clue. I was talking with a gal who was working the detroit area and she had no clue that the automotive industry was so far down and the economy sucks. I suggested she might want to temporarily drop her rates a bit and she thought i was a genius. Yes the economy is down and you cant really call entertainment in any form a core living expense like food shelter etc. When the market comes back and the economy turns around business will come back up

Hi Everyone,

This is a terrible economic time for the US and the world! Lucky for me the entertainment industry is less hard hit because people need to escape from the everyday drama of the recession! However because of the recession and these tough times ,Sunny Dee-Lite events will have a "Rewards Program"! Stay tuned working out all the kinks but will release all info after our big Halloween Bash this Friday at Remix!

xoxo,
Sunny =D

a note of clarification: my titled was truncated..I posed a question: Fewer "trannie chasers" at Allanah's, Sunny's parties? I have no idea what effect, if any, will the mass dismissals on Wall Street have on their parties. One would hope none.

It is ignorant to deny that the ecomonic crisis is not affecting everyone.

We are on the brink, if not in a global recession and it's only to get worse.

Though people will continue to eat, go out and do recreational activities, they will do so less.

New York City is a different beast than the rest of the country- the segment of people that are transsexual admirers cross all cultural and financial lines, so clearly not just bankers are involved.

The article is basically saying that other markets are luring NYC financial workers to other markets. I am mot sure how that relates to night clubs directly-

BUT

The entertainment and sex industry are not recession proof.

What we will be doing is changing things around a bit, but I am not talking about it yet...

Yes, recent upheavals in the financial market are affecting all parts of the United States economy. NYS and NYC in particular will feel things more acutely because "Wall Street" is not just about those working in the financial markets.

High net worth individuals were the persons driving much of the local economy. They pay a good portion of state and local taxes, they also were the ones purchasing high end real estate, and or making major renovations to same. Do not forget also those same persons keep the NYC/NYS economy going by all the shopping, and personal services they consume.

OTHO, Verizon reported 3rd qtr earnings today way above estimates, an increase of 31% as a matter of fact. Consumers are continuing to spend on FIOS and cell phones so things aren't bad out there for everyone.

Regarding the trannie scene, from what one is hearing, while some of the working girls are starting to work harder to make the same or less money, as men cut back on "extra" spending, there is another force at work; Craigslist.

More and more men who are into trannies, and either will not or do not wish to pay to get their kicks, are turning to CL looking for girls who want to hook-up to get their mojo on.

While there are more than a few "men in wigs", looking for dates, apparently there are enough "passable" trannies interested to keep things going.

At first one thought CL "M4T" adverts would be filled with bog monster ugly trannie chasers, but nothing could be furhter from the truth. There are some VERY good-looking, young, attractive, and muscular men looking to get their trannie freak on, trolling around CL. More than one can ever remember seeing at various dedicated trannie parties.

Interestingly enough saw adverts from men in NYC from other countries, (yes, they were fine looking, well at least their pictures were), looking to meet trannies while in the city.

Will be interesting to see how CL affects the trannie scene going forward, especially as men who previously may have plunked down $$$$ to get their itch scratched, now may have either less money to spend, or are being careful.

The parties look more crowded than ever, I guess it depends on your own personal perspective. I'm more concerned with the girls than the chasers anyway :)

Wow, does this mean that the bubble in Tranny Escort Prices will actually burst as well.

"The TA index which had surged to $400/30 minutes has now crashed to $100/Hour"

Can't wait to see that on Cnbc, I might just get back into the market again...

Allanah,

It's very refreshing to see someone in the industry admit that "the business" is, in fact, NOT recession proof like various recent articles written by people for the various rags who have no clue about the biz have spewed forth. As someone who comes in contact every day with pretty much the entire spectrum of the sex biz here in NYC, I can tell that most of the industry is well off in revenues. In the last few weeks the most telling sign is that several places which are "parties" of various sorts have been running out of gas and closing substantially earlier than usual. Just last night I was at a client's spot whose Wednesday hours are 7PM till 2AM, but called "last call" just after 11PM because it just didn't make sense to stay open any longer with all the customers an girls having left.

I do agree, as usual, with Shining Star, that we'll see a BIG increase in CL as a substitute for many venues. But I'm not sure it's as much for the reason she states, because that only explains why guys who used to pay would now be trying to get it for free. I'm not sure how long that will continue when they see that the girls aren't looking to give it away for free, I think it's just an indication of the financial position of the customer base. however, what we almost always see in this type of situation is that guys don't stop having sex, they just move "down the ladder": guys who used to see $400 an hour independents move down to $200 incalls. And guys who used to make fun of the guys who went to the $40 Spanish quickie houses start asking how you get into them.
