I think that's a big part of it,

and then I think another big part of it are all the people who feel insecure about being into tgirls, and try to find a vent for that frustration (using the wrong methods). The internet makes that both easier for people because they feel anonymous (even if they're not).

That's why I tell people that if they really wanna know if they pass, go work with kids (teaching, daycare, charities, where ever)- because most kids don't hold back when they notice something is off, and if you look like "an nhl player in a dress"- they're going to probably say so. The bigger the group of kids are, the braver they'll be in saying what they observe, where as one-on-one a kid may not have the balls to challenge an authority figure.

I am sure we can all remember that odd looking, strange substitute teacher of our youth that would get harassed by the kids, even if she was in earshot.

However, surely you agree there are some people who go and seek out people to tare into, who have no intentions of complementing anyone- and are here strictly for that reason.

I think a lot of people tend to misuse TV when talking about their pre-transition lives. Clinically, medically- I don't see how someone can "go" from being "TV" to "TS" as the two are vastly different situations.

CD is an act, not a medical condition- i.e. "wearing the opposite sex's clothing", it doesn't speak to motive, emotions, or anything along those lines. Someone could "CD" before they go fulltime/transition... but that doesn't mean they were a transvestite "before they transitioned"

Some transvestites do partially transition, i.e. going on hrt- but that doesn't determine whether they have GID.

Let me clear that up. I started out as a crossdresser and did dress for a sexual thrill during my teens and identified at that point as a transvestite. Later in life I identified as transgendered, knowing full well that many people don't even believe there's such a thing. It wasn't until I began HRT that I identified as transsexual. I prefer to leave it up to licensed professionals to determine the evolution anyone's path or journey as far as gender issues are concerned since it's an entirely different discussion from sexuality.
