I´ve not seen either of these girls in Honolulu - which would lead me to believe, like many reality or documentarys, there is a certain amount of set-up to get the programming they want.

Oh well

maybe HBO has been studying Maury Povich's highly rated
" He or She " ts-shows and figured there's definitely
enough public interest to warrant a reality documentary.


Or the HBO producers decided to try a mixture of ideas
from both of Taxicab Confessions and Pimps Up/Hoes Down
series to see if this would get a rise out of the general adult
TV audience .

This might be the most effective event yet for brining T-girls mainstream. Even though Brent Owens' documentaries tend to focus on the bleak side of things, there is always a lot of titillation and T&A. Seeing passable or near-passable T-girls on HBO is gonna hit a lot of "ordinary" guys right in the crotch, where it's hard to argue or get too intolerant.

This show is gonna make a lot of new Eddie Murphys coast-to-coast. Good.

How could possibly a documentsary about transsexual street walkers do anything positive or bring anything into the mainstream?

What it will do, it what all the other Owen documnetaries have done- is show the real life, and hard life of women working the streets, and how so many of these girls are drug addicts and desperate.

But it is true- a lot of things in "documentaries" are somewhat staged for dramatic effect.

I think I've seen the Maury show once, when I was home sick with the flu and couldn't get myself to change the TV channel. I was like "Holy crap! I must have died and am now in hell!"

How can you call that stuff "more or less real"? From what I've read just on this site, the Maury show made Gia use a phoney name (for whatever reason) and her MTV episode had her pretend to want be made to look like Pamela Anderson.

There is an older Playboy channel documentary on French TS prostitues floating around somewhere.
Also I have 2 friends that are trying to get one on the Italian girls but the "Italian" girls are very secretive and many live straight lives. All they seem to find are junkies and Brazilian girls. You should go to the Italian escort sites Like arcaton and have a look.

I have a story thats somewhat related to the LOCATION of this documentary.
When I was getting out of the military in 1997 I flew over to Japan on a military plane.
Getting on these planes are by a "space-available" basis........so you fly with ALL kinds of people on ALL kinds of different military aircraft.
I went to Tokyo twice in March of 1997 and was coming back and on the way back there were these 2 women who were military members(unfortunately).
They were stationed in Hawaii and they kept blabbing the whole flight.
All of sudden one starts talking about transexuals.
She goes "those THINGS are beautiful.....blah blah blah"
Mind you this girl was busted.
Her face,body and attitude were ALL ugly.
Im guessing by her conversation that maybe some military guy(ahem) hooked up with a transexual and she didnt like it.
She could tell I was annoyed with her existence on this earth.
But the moral of this story is the genetic girls are often jealous of transexuals.
