I am sooooooooo eagerly awaiting the release of Grace Jones 10th studio album. Hurricane is scheduled for release in October 2008. I love the first two songs released so far. She has always been the ultimate to me.

That strength and power she has is intoxicating.

From what I have heard of the new album I am sure this will become a new classic for me.

I remember Tyra Banks getting all mad at one of the contestants of ANTM.One of the girls was opset 'cause she had to become a darker color to portray Grace Jones. (Season 2 Ep. 4.) She (Xiomara Frans) should've been honored that she could portray Grace instead of bitching about it. What a dumb girl....Some people clearly are ignorant and don't understand shit. Grace is an iconic star.

BTW: In America they cut the scene where Tyra gets all frantic towards this girl. The unedited version shows Tyra almost crying and putting her in her place. I've seen this version floating around on the internet some time ago. Worth watching.

I remember this episode too didnt realize there was unedited footage. I felt bad for the girl when she got all upset just shows how much people are socialized to think that black isnt beautiful. I think she eventually turned that shoot too very professionally.

Grace is an Icon. She helped me a lot in my transition because I have clasically ethnic features many people after told me I wasn't worth looking at. Sad thing is most of those folks were black. Then in high school some white kids were going crazy about this black model Grace Jones. I got one look and was consumed with all things grace.

She helped me find my inner beauty and embrace and love myself til that beauty emerged from the inside out. It was Grace in your face attitude that helped me get past wanting to die for being born so dark to celebrating even inch of my decadent dark flesh.

Awww thanks but that was as a kid. When I knew better I did better. Thanks for those kid words though. I have never been one to let my past influence my future if one doesnt live, learn and grow one will be doomed to repeat the same things time after time til the lesson is learned.

I have been deemed quite bitchy but I see it as just being honest and direct. If thats bad sue me its a midwest thing. Reality bites. LOL

First of all, she is 60 years old. Yes 60 , and looks AMAZING.

Second all people forget the Miss Jones was a pioneer of beauty in her day. Deemed to have 'too strong' of a look to model in America, she was sent to Paris were she became a succesful model. That is back when French designers like Yves St. Laurent became trail blazers in the fashion industry by using non white European models. She was discovered as a singer in Paris, on top of a table at a night club.

She had the same story of Josephine Baker in a sense. Having to leave her country to become a success because of her looks, color. (Though she is from Jamaica, I meant is as a US refference)

Let's also not forget how she played with gender and androgeny in the 80's and challenged the status quo with her dress and looks.

She was and is still beautiful.

It's amazing to me how people always, always trying to say well-there is someone more beautiful-yes there is. There will always be someone more beautiful, younger-whatever. Everyone's opinions differ-but people like Grace Jones demonstrate that beauty can be different.

There is a lot to be said about talent and style- it's not all about who you want to fuck. I may not want to fuck Grace Jones, but I can't deny her beauty and sex appeal.

Thats all anyone's beauty is an opinion. There is no such thing as the ultimate beauty in reality. The most stunning girl is ugly someone. I appreciate your response too wish more men would get it. No one is really ugly they are just not your cup of tea. The ugliness comes from a persons character and personality more than their physical attributes.
