Finally a real heat wave, 105 today 106 yesterday.

Yesterday I swam in the Washougal river, and it was so wonderful. Today I hiked to a waterfall (only 3.4 miles but the heat had me begging for mercy) and jumped in the icy cold (snow runoff) stream.

I love summertime!

Here's a cell phone picture of me after a good long swim.

great pics mandy, but you are an example of an oxymoron...how can you be cooled off, and hot at the same time?

Swimming in rivers still kinda creeps me out. I know it shouldn't but I come from Ohio, where you never know what the cities upriver are dumping in there.

Since I moved out west all my friends go swimming in natural bodies of water, I just haven't gotten over my prejudice yet. I've dealt with the heat by panting like a dog - doesn't work very well though.

You need to get over it. It is perfectly possible to follow the streams and rivers here to their source, which is usually snow melt or glacial melt. You really owe it to yourself to check it out. Also, there are plenty of lakes to swim in if you are scared of rivers.

you are a sweet little slip of a thing, it makes you very appealing in a take you home and feed you whipped cream kind of a way. Nummy.

As for lakes and such, ever since people started getting uncurable brain rot from some kind of algae blooms ive been a little more appreciative of swimming pools.
