Ok, so I've contemplated putting up my own business in health care for awhile (Reason why I left the east coast and get retrained). I worked the field about 2 years now this August to gain the experience, knowledge of varied medical cases, type of care needed per case and the ins and out of the business etc.

Now I am trying to put up a nurse registry referral service. Yes, I would be referring nurses, lvn's, cna's and caregivers to needy patients that require 8-12 hour shifts to 24 hour shift as the case may be.

But I need help with my company flier/brochure to hand out to social workers at hospitals. Is there anyone here who could help me out with this (as a hobby or on his spare time..Obviously, I don't have the funds for this at the moment since it's still in 'start up' phase)? But eventually, I might be able to when the time comes and I needed a website presence.

Of course, this will be very tg friendly. So if you are tg and is in the health care field and living in Los Angeles, send me your resume and maybe I could place you for work. All I ask is that you be dedicated, hardworking, compassionate about your job and in helping people and be 'professional' looking. ;) If you care about your nails breaking or being short, wears too much make up (in the day time) and perfume then this is not the job for you. I need someone who doesn't mind getting dirty ex. sticking a suppository up a patients bum, changing colostomy bags, suctioning tracheotomy, giving insulin shots, administering CPR/First aid etc. lol Yeah, being a nurse isn't exactly a "glamorous life".

Also, IF you know someone in the LA area who needs help with ADL's (Assisted Daily Living routines), rehab patients etc. please let me know.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

~Kisses.

UPDATE: So yesterday, I've met up with a potential client and brought to her an applicant. Everything went fine and she was pleased with the initial work I've done finding them a nursing asst. for her younger brother who's been diagnosed with ALS. Unfortunately, she had to decline the applicant (who's got ALS experience) due to his lack of height which is crucial in performing a hip lift manneuver in adjusting patient to bed repositioning. It was a bit of a downer. Though she emailed me as soon as she got home to tell me:

Hi

I just wanted to reiterate how impressed I was with you today. If you find the whole hip-lift thing frustrating, imagine how I feel, having to reject an otherwise perfect worker. But there has to be a tall, strong nursing asst. somewhere in the Los Angeles area, and I am going to find him. If you could help, that would be beautiful! I can't believe how lucky I was to find you. I will continue looking on my own as well, but I have a feeling you are my best hope. Call me anytime. It was great meeting you today.

Sincerely,

Your potential Client

Her email sounds very promising and made my day. I just hope I find what she is looking for and close the deal already! Ahhhh... lol

Just thought I'd share.

Thanks for taking interest in something NOT porn or escorting related topic for a change! :P

Being a tg has not once stopped me going through with it. I shall have to work harder to get this off the ground, I know that much. But once it does, it'll be all worth it.

The single biggest cause of failure for small businesses is being undercapitalized.

You should consider with partnering up with some plastic surgeons as well. A lot of people hire nurses after surgery. Just a thought.

You could even target the TG community itself by TG friendly nurses-
And ad in Transformation magazine I think would be EXCELLENT
as well as advertising online of course. Reaching out to the Drs in LA who deal with alot of trans peolple like Toby Mayer, Alter, etc etc

Conratulations on taking a huge step in starting your own business. I am not able to assist with your request for design of advertising pieces, however I might be able to assist in some leads as respects potential clients. I am with a financial services firm and we have a number of local health care clients, so I will check with the account manager handling these accounts and see if I can wrangle some contacts for you. You might also be able to qualify for some MOB and/ or enterprize zone funding. Based on where you have indicated where you live in the dt area of LA, I suspect you are in the dt enterprize zone and I understand there is $ for start ups. I will check into that as well and get back with you.

The note from your potential client was really positive. While you have not yet found the right individual for her brother, since she was so impressed with the search that you performed for her, you should not hesitate to ask that she offer your contact info to her brothers health care provider, advising them of your services and the great work you did for her. Word of mouth business is the absolute best you can get. Good luck and I will get back with you.
