PORN GANG ORGANISER APPARENTLY DOESN‘T CHANGE HIS SPOTS

A member of farang-Thai porn operation that PDN reported on last year has re-emerged into the limelight as the organiser of a Bangkok porn gang. On April 7, 2007, three men, John Gilbert Bowen (60) and his gang were apprehended making porno movies in Pattaya, using Thai bar girls and katoeys as sex artistes.

Two weeks ago, the following news was published in Thai on the Manager Online Newspaper and recommended to PDN News by one of our readers.

Apparently, at 6.30 pm, on 12 June , 2008, Police Lieutenant General Somyos Poompanmoung, Police Major General Wisut Wanichbut and a police team from the Child Juvenile and Women Division (CWD) brought a warrant to search a room in Thomson Residence, Bangna Trad, Bangkok, after being notified that a group of foreigners was making a porn movie.

On entering the apartment, they found pornography and video equipment for making porn and all kinds of sex equipment, as well as VCDs and photos. The police also found a gang in the room: three men Messrs.Joe Macos Perlaila (23), Morikane(25) Philipe K. Orivera (29), (all Brazilian), Mrs. Teres Sita Edades(25) Philipina and Mr. Wittaya Mekwilai(25) a Thai Krateuy, who were all in the act of having sex and being filmed. The police found a fully equipped studio set with lights, flash equipment and a big video camera for taking movies and photos, gel and boxes of condoms.

The police revealed that 2 weeks ago they'd had an advance report that this group of people would be filming their movie on such and such a day at this location. They had consequently followed this team, which was apparently run by Mr. John Gilbert Bowen (60), one of the three men who was originally arrested in Pattaya in April, 2007.

Police announced that the criminals will be charged and face 3 years in prison and also fined not more than 6000 baht. They then sent this group of people to the local police station.

There was a time when John T/ Bone made great movies. Like in the early and mid 90's, pretty hardcore stuff.

I wonder why he went to a country where you're not allowed to shoot porn. I also wonder how those guys from ladyboycock.com, asianstreetmeat.com and exploitedteensasia.com for example keep in business making porn in a country where it's not allowed.

It's called discretion.

I always thought it was bribe or something.

But can you shoot a private movie like not a commercially movie? Like what if you had sex with hooker and you taped it with a handycam for your private viewing only. Would that be allowed there?

12 years ago, I had a private escort session with Kelly Michaels and she told me that John T. Bone was the biggest asshole on the face of the earth and that he was extremely difficult to work with during video shoots.

I'm not saying I agree or disagree with her, I'm just telling you what she told me.

i am interested also as to whether you could be prosecuted for making home/personal movies of thai girls...it seems like this was a sting targetting an obviously commercial situation, but i wonder if theres some small print that could get the average hobbyist in trouble.

Use your head, if you are a noncitizen in a foreign country where prostitution & porn is illegal & they pick you up filming sex acts with the nationals.....
The point is this is a different culture & you don't have any "constitutional rights" & in fact are a guest at their command: be loud, stupid, combative at your own risk. Be polite, subtle, keep your head down & you'll be OK.

As far as "some small print that could get the average hobbyist in trouble"
no small print at all.... porn is illegal in Thailand & the US authorities have the new right to examine whats on your hard drives & cameras upon re-entry to the US now.
Chances are slim that anything will happen in reality, but act smart....
