26 Dolphins washed up dead in Cornwall yesterday, the largest mass marine death of this nature for over 27 years in the UK.

They reckon they were confused by sonar.

Even though death is constantly on our screens, stuff like this is still fucking depressing.

That's a weird story, but I don't think the theory that killer whales frightened a group of 70 dolphins into shallow water makes much sense. If that was the case, and they didn't even bother to eat any of the dolphins, then the waters off the coast of Cornwall has one mean ass pod of whales prowling around.

I bet there's several Hollywood producers heading to the UK right now, thinking: "This story could kick-start a new 'killer fish' film franchise. Greenlight 'Orca 2: Dolphins Be Damned!', and get Bo Derek on the phone. We'll have Tarantino direct her come back!"
