Well, it stands to reason that you would want to go to the top 5-10 largest Metro areas, but you live in 1 of them already.

So, New York area, LA, Bay Area, Dallas, Miami....a few others.

If it's your first time, maybe you shouldn't go out alone.

Damn! I actually like Chicago, but then, my ex lived in the epicenter of the Lakeside gayborhood. :)

You just haven't appreciated the finer points of the place. You never really appreciate a city you've lived in until =after= you leave.

That said...Try Philly. One gurl I know calls Philly her "Number one bitch!" (Or maybe she was just talking about me...Who knows?). The [Name of big brand hotel chain] seems to be Tranny Central and is within walking distance of all the cool sites if you want to play tourist.

Don't just WORK these cities, but truly try to enjoy them on your tour. Baltimore has a wonderful Science Center, two fire museums, a railroad museum, a trolley museum, art centers, etc. DC has the Smithsonian (Seven museums, spread across the city) and all the National monuments. Go to Potomac Park just for the view of the river. New York...Too much to see. Take the Circle Line boat tour, you'll see the fringes of the entire city. The entire face of Boston has changed! See it all. Catch a Pops concert if you can (Bonus points if you hit the Esplanade on July 4th).

i can say good things about denver. There's ton's of nature stuff to see if you're into that.

There's plenty of bar scenes to check out, though there are few that are tgirl specific. OK, none, but there's one or two places that do the typical drag night.

I agree with that. I would say it also depends a bit on what type of job you want to get. How high up the ladder you are looking to climb. I have had, and had to walk away from a couple of jobs this summer. Both were jobs canvassing for charity, and one was sales. One had me driving about 60 miles to get to it, the other was being ran by morons 8 years younger than I. Neither would have paid my expenses all by themselves. Which lead me to think that I would be more or less wasting my time working them, walking my feet off and running myself into the ground for $8.50/hr + the occasional bonus. So yes jobs are findable.

I also look for white collar jobs, with salary, and benefits. Jobs where I would mostly use my brain to do the work (don't have to be science). It seems the higher up the ladder one tries to climb the more crafty people are at discriminating. It's one thing to have a small businessman tell you "tranny get lost" and another for a corporation to simply never call you for that second interview (The one they do after the really invasive background check is done and has been signed off on by some anonymous pencil pusher who will never ever meet you).

That's been my experience anyway.

I don't know if you are literally going to do all your travel by air. But from an economic standpoint the bus or Amtrak may be a better deal depending on where you are going. Anyway good luck to you.
