Wow, it that what passes for Rock these days. I havn't even heard of most of that stuff. I gave up on new music about 10 years ago and I am totally out of touch with todays music. These days if I do listen to music I usually tune in to the Sirius music channel that plays classic rock. Here is an sample of the groups or artists I like :

Pink Floyd
CCR
Neil Young
Led Zeppelin
Rolling Stones
Jimi Hendrix
C,S, and N (and sometimes Y)
ect.

Show me some new music that compares with people and groups like that and I will listen to it.

What are you, like 15 years old or something?

I hate losers who like Song 2. Blur has an amazing catalogue, but you douches are too busy bashing heads to notice.

By the way, the rest of your music taste is pretty sucky too. Limp Bizkit are disgusting, they got someone killed and I'll never forgive them for that.
This is music for kids with too much testosterone.

No, this is music for Clearchannel employees to masturbate to.

everyone is entitled to their own opinions I guess, if you dont like the music fine, say so, no need to get angry with a person who does.

and I dont just listen to music like this,

I also listen to classic rock, ACDC, Ozzy, Led Zeppilin, John Fogerty, CCR, and lots of others.

Country, Garth Brooks, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Mongomery Gentry, Alabama, etc.

Techno, doesnt matter who mixed it, as long at I like the beat and rhythym

And very limited amounts of rap, 2 live crew, DMX, Eminem, Nelly, etc

Yeah you pretty much just made the same point again there by quoting those acts.
I don't mind if you listen to that stuff, that's fine with me. I know dudes that do.
I just think that those types of bands are just brainless, testosterone rock; and much as it has it's place, it helps to broaden your musical horizon.

Here's a second question for all you guys/gals, do you buy the cds or download the music from something like Limewire or NeoNapster or do you do both?

Dude... no offense but this list looks like you copied a playlist from a new rock radio station in 1998. That stuff was all good... once upon a time. Now we've got some great new music out that ISN'T played on the radio. Check out these bands:

Instead of: Blur, Try: Brand New
Instead of: Breaking Benjamin, Try: Senses Fail
Instead of: Buck Cherry, Try: The Sleeping
Instead of: Limp Bizkit, Try: The Used
Instead of: Slipknot, Try: Dance Gavin Dance
Instead of: Saliva, Try: Scary Kids Scaring Kids
Instead of: Fall Out Boy, Try: Play Radio Play
Instead of: Trapt, Try: Silverstein
Instead of: Finger Eleven, Try: Manchester Orchestra
Instead of: Linkin Park, Try: AFI

two other bands you'll love: Circa Survive, Chiodos

Radio keeps recycling the same old crappy music without ever giving us a chance to check out new, original bands... check these bands out... you won't be sorry.

those are the songs I grew up with, and they will always be some of my favorites, but your right, the radio stations do keep recycling songs, because they only play what people demand, otherwise they play it safe and play the hits that were popular 2-6 years ago, I'll check out the bands you suggested, thanks for the tips

Honestly dude all that shit you listen to is garbage, song 2 is the most respectable song on that list but it's still pretty weak, and it's the number one. Music is all generally subjective and what ''rock'' music really is is quite open for debate. However, I find that when people generally say that they're a rocker then they think they may listen to some stuff that's pretty loud and agressive and perhaps groundbreaking and original and not neccesarly trying to sound like rock, but rather just being sincere in their songwriting. I suppose the thing that I find most troubling is the labelling of music. It's so diverse and to break it down into a few genre's is oversimplifying. On the flip side having a gazillion kinds of subgenre's is just taking it too far ie: hardcore, post-hardcore, grindcore, metalcore, technical metalcore, math metal, screamo, emo, post punk.... Who gives a shit!
