Sitting here forced to watch "Tyra" and she's doing a show on names. A roundtable was given a list of kids names and gave their reactions to them.
These people were making ridiculous assumptions about folk based on a name. The first name was "Deedrica". Everyone thought she was black and ghetto and lazy... She was white.
Does a name really mean that much? Sure, I assume someones ethnicity at times, based on names, but not really their character.
Is it embarassing when someone names kids after cars (Lexus), or potent potables (Alize)?
Does an escort named Heather attract a different clientele than one named Coco Bootilicious?
(BTW the white girl named "Deedrica" has a sister named "Lakiesha". I'm sorry, ethnicity not withstanding, their mom is ghetto,LOL.)

I just can believe you actually watched Tyra. What in the hell did you do wrong to deserve that uniquely injurious form of punishment? It must have been quite bad. (Perhaps a double homicide or something similar?) Either way, you have my deepest sympathies. No crime, no matter how heinous, could ever warrant so final a judgment.

I once met a very pretty girl (she ven did a bit of legit modeling) by the name of "Latrina. " Guess the race? ]
Hmmm. Probably supposed to assume black, but I'll say caucasion, of the French/European type.

She was black. Very cute. I liked her, I hated her name. Her parents should have been smacked for giving her a name that was one letter away from a shitter!

Why do they do it? I just shake my head!! This lady actually got on national tv and admitted she named her daughter Shenequamaria Alize! She said she knew Alize was a liquor, bit it went so well with Shenequamaria!!! She said her sister, who named her daughter Ashleigh was a sellout!
