Cats in heat

Heh. Not what anyone reading this is probably thinking. I was just wondering how cats adapt to warm environments? I realize they were first domesticated in Egypt and that just seems like a pretty shitty location for a cat. I suppose nearly all cats live primarily indoors anyways, but it's just something I'm curious about.
