All of the posts about rimming and ass licking have got me to wondering. What exactly is the appeal of licking someone's asshole? It isn't exactly a clean place considering that is where feces exit our bodies. Also there are a number of feces bound diseases that you may contract by putting your mouth or tongue on or in a person's asshole. I am aware a person can clean the area so that it doesn't smell, but that doesn't necessarily make it completely clean.

I am not in any way judging anyone who enjoys this. I am just curious as to what is appealing and/or pleasurable about it for you.

well young fella ---it's very intimate --very personal ---very sexy ---watching and hearing your partner squirm and squeal ---VERY appealing to know she's loving your skills ------and believe it or not (in my recent experiences) ---there is no odor --no taste ----just another beautiful part of the female body that loves attention ------ya dig?

So if I understand you correctly your pleasure is purely based upon her pleasure. I understand. However the same result could be attained by going down on her without rimming her. Unless of course she doesn't enjoy that. I also said that I realize there shouldn't be much of an odor is she is clean. My concern was with bacteria, feces etc.

Oh, and by the way I am not a young fella. I was simply curious as to was pleasure people derive from this because it has come up here recently and it is something that I have found to be a turnoff.

not many people like the taste of feces (except for those chicks from 2girls1cup, but thats another story entirely), so the models wo get rimmed get it cleaned VERY WELL. personally you can do very similar things if im gonna do it to my partner. its amazing what a shower with soap and some patiences can do. it not somethin id recommend doing to some chick you picked up at a bar, but if your with a girl for a few times, and you trust her hygiene patterns it can be fun.

A fair question but I suspect you have never actually done this, otherwise you would love it and know why or you would hate it and know why.

The simple answer is that it's a lot of fun (if you like it.) The ring is totally different in feel from a cunt, quite resisting of penetration, and for someone who likes having it done to them it is very obviously a real turn-on. Your partner can also do all sorts of things to the tip of your tongue with her ring that a cunt just can't.

Girls are very good at keeping this area clean and I have never had a bad experience with a TS woman. The times I have with GG women they weren't expecting it. (One advantage of pre-op TS women is they know you're going to be in about there so they're super-super-clean. Or maybe I'm just lucky.)

There are plenty of nasties you can catch from the practise ranging from parasites to quite nasty bacterial infections, but I have never got sick or anything from it.

If you're worried about such things then you can make a barrier using cling-film or a condom (cut off the ends and then slit it up the side.) You'll still get most of the tactile stuff, and so will she, without any of the stuff that may be bothering you.

I have to say, much as I enjoy doing it, I don't like having it done to me at all. Also, perhaps curiously, I like a nice furry cunt but anuses have to be totally hair-free or I'm out of there like a shot.

I have actually done it once. I really didn't like it. It was mostly a mental thing for me. I couldn't get it out of my head that I was licking an area where shit exits the body. It probably doesn't help that my undergraduate degree is in microbiology so I am acutely aware of the many infections that may result from this.

Mostly I was just curious what people liked about it. Thanks for explaining why you dig it.

In my personal experience, when it is done well, it really helps warm me up before I get fucked.

Why not try it with a barrier like cling-film. It's almost as much fun and no risk of nasties.

cling film.
u mean Saran wrap?
LOL, I can just picture that. excuse me honey, before I rim you I gotta get my tuna sandwitch from the fridge and unwrap it.

I can sooooooo relate to this, but I've never been able to adjust to the 'giving' end.

To those that worry, either a modified condom or a dental dam will work.

weird, this seems so common nowadays with dental dams or cling wrap i am surprised its even a discussion. i will comment that every girl likes it. it may be new and seem weird or too taboo for her at first, but i can assure you once she feels like it is ok to do and you enjoy giving it to her she will love it. go to town!

Microbiology... really. Well then explain this to me. You've clearly kissed more people then you've rimmed and you're apparently not worried about the diseases from that activity? Have you read to the end of your MB book yet? There are more diseases related to saliva than to feces. And from purely a microbiological perspective... The anus is a cleaner place then the mouth.*

Soooo... from purely a microbiological perspective, we're safer kissing someone ass then their mouth.**

Perhaps you just need to admit that you don't get it, don't like it, but are faced with partners who do and want you do it. So you feel stuck and confused. Hey, set limits, uphold them and keep on going. Life is short - enjoy your time while it lasts.

* The human mouth is home to something in the region of 300 species of bacteria, with a few species of fungi and protozoa thrown in for good luck.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I have to say it drives me craaazzzy. It is, as you say, very intimate and personal. I like the idea of it, it's so.....dirty. I've found guys who eat ass love to do it and do it well.

Oral biologists had that number at 400 cultivable species, and it's been increased to over 600 species by PCR methods.

But really, we don't get serious infections by endogenous microbes unless the "opportunity" presents itself. The bugs are where they are supposed to be after 400 million years of evolution. It's when something new happens that we start to see disease. Luckily, coprophagy has been around for a long time.

1. There's always the dose effects. Yes, the mouth has many species, but salive has far lower concentrations of certain gram negative anaerobes than fecal matter, which can be up to 67% microbial in origin.

2. There are indeed infections stemming from endogenous microbes of the oral cavity, but this can be related to the direction of fluid flow and anatomy of the oral mucosae (especially, the gingival sulcus).

3. I cannot concur with that last statement. You bugs in the mouth protect you, to some extent, from other people's mouth bugs. Especially your strep (which can cause cavities if your diet is bad and valvular heart disease if given the opportunity). They can also protect you from oral colonization... but they would have be powerless from protecting you from enteric infections that can result from ingestion of large quantities of certain Gm negatives (Eg. Salmonella, Escherichia)... this is why the food and water industries specifically monitors coliforms.

Sorry. I edited my post above to indicate what i really wanted to say about the safety issue, rather than species enumeration. Anyway, this is what I added above

Salmonella, Escherichia)... this is why the food and water industries specifically monitors coliforms.

Most excellent reply, MacShreach!
I nominate MacShreach "Lord of the Rings"!

It's also a good way to check out the goods.
Cleanliness and scent is of the utmost importance to me.
I once encounter a clag nut on a GG and that just ended the whole thing.
*YUCK*
However, the ring has so many nerve endings and the gratitude returned is often worth taking a trip to Chocolate City.
Try adding a sip of hot tea to your routine. Your partner will thank me.

I've done it with three girls, one my ex and two other how shall I say "Fuck buddys".

I find it's one of those things that if you think about it too much, you can find lots reasons not to. But if you just let yourself go and don't over think it, it’s actually really hot, and they seemed to get off on it, allot actually!

And there is always the fire and ice treatment for a bit of varity. A cup of warm tea next to a glas of ice water and let the games begin. Often results in a request for a repeat performance.

Alright smart guy. Since you seem to be an expert can you give me examples of multiple diseases that are sprad via oral oral contact. And it doesn't count if someone a current illness. If you kiss someone who is sick with something as simple as a cold then you have a somewhat decent probability of contracting it. You are correct that there are many bacteria in the mouth. However, most are not pathogenic and most are in your mouth as well. So unless you are immunocompromised it is not anything to worry about. On the other hand, the anus contains many pathogenic bacteria. Why do you think that when there are too many coliform bacteria in the water they shut down beaches?

Number of different species of bacteria is irrelevant. It is what species and in what numbers that matters. If you really knew what you were talking about you would know that. I don't mean to be pissy, but your condescending tone was out of line and not necessary.
