Can someone please explain the logic behind the online escort advertisements that ask for roses, candles, and doorknobs?

Does anyone really think they can avoid the obvious with their word choices?

It's legal semantics, 250 dollars for sex is illegal, but 250 roses (and brakepads) is legal. Since roses and brakepads are not legal tender, it is not considered a proposition for prostitution, this really fools the police. HAHA

Serious question.... sort of.....

What if someone was paid with a $300 gift card to a certain store? Is that still illegal?

:?

Probably. I'm thinking it's still legal tender because it can be exchanged for goods.

BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!! (but you already know that)

Everyone should Read your local statute (or anyone else's). Almost none use the word "money" as the sole determinant. It's usually anything of value. People think lots of bullshit about this (like if you ask him if he is a cop that he has to tell you, or that the law says he can't get undressed and then bust you).

Curious True Beauty ... any reason you chose $300 for your question?

It's because the average girl advertising using such silliness has the intelligence of a hedgehog, has never actually read the laws, and thinks it's going to keep her from getting busted.

Hmmm..... Do Tiffany's, Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo and Manolo have gift cards??? :D

But.... I could probably get more stuff for the money at Target or Barnes & Noble. (Or how about $300 of Starbucks coffee!!!) LOL

I don't know why escorting is illegal in the first place in USA. If two mature adults want to engage in sex for cash, then that's between them. The fact that it's illegal causes more problems i.e std risks, safety issues.

It's ok to buy a gun in America but you can't hire an escort... :?
