NYC LE has cracked down on street action, especially in the Meat Packing District and other areas of Manhattan famous for it.

People paying 1-5 million dollars for an apartment/condo/co-op don't want that sort of thing in their area (gasp, around the children), and are quick to complain and mobilise the media to bring attention to the situation. This in turn brings LE action.

Things were also getting way out of hand. Last year a group of trannies was mugging people down by Christopher Street/West Village area. Several months later a taxi driver was stabbed in his head by a trannie with her shoe because he refused to take her as a passenger.

There was also several reports in the local news about how the girls were conducting business in the alleyways/doorways of homes/and apartment buildings; even in the door way of a local nursery school. Worse they left things like used condoms and stuff after they had finished.

The upshot of all this media attention was the area began to organise an area watch, and when it was discovered many of the girls picked up were serial known prosituties (one girl had a rap sheet of over 300 arrests), LE swung into action.

It used to be street action was located/known in deserted industrial areas of NYC, where outside of LE and those looking/working no one else knew what was going on. But with Manhattan real estate sky rocketing, even areas like the Far West Side/Meat Packing District have been come home to many. As I stated before, people paying huge amounts of money for a home, are not going to tolerate illegal activity going on in their patch.

Craigslist was caught more than once with escort ads. A few months ago it was on the news some girls were working Craigslist ads up in Westchester, and got busted. Craigslist issued a statment about not knowing ..... blah, blah, and would take action...... blah, blah,blah.

Apparently the workers were using local hotels and other locations which in turn caught the attention of local residents because of the traffic. The rest as they say is history.

Think in general most action has shifted from the street to ads as not only because LE has stepped up enforcement, but prolly the money is better. The Village Voice is probably proof of this. What is it up to now, 5 or more pages of "escorts"? That is more than Screw seemed ever to have.

it's wild, I went to a club in Manhattan tonight and cut back through Queens on the way home...... what used to be like 25-30 girls is now 3 or 4 bold ones on a corner with their girl standing by the car just in case a 5-0 van appears..........

The same thing is going on over here in Baltimore.
The stroll was alive and crowded with beautiful girls for years.
It got to the point were its was too many.
Some nights you would see 30 different girls.
Now there is a housing boom in the area and it is down to the same 10 girls that aren't attractive at all. (Lil' brothers with there sisters wigs on)
Some don't even bother to dress up (just a wig)
Last year, I would see tons of girls getting arrested.
Now its almost dead.
