I read a post recently that said that the girls here do not like being called shemales. I have been told that tgirl is ok, but on the HA message boards, the message board uses the word shemales a lot. I just call the girls, girls. I am wondering what is more acceptable. I would guess if given a choice, tgirl is better than shemale, but I might be thinking of tomatoes and tom... well... you know..

"shemale" and "tranny" are generally considered derogatory terms that are part of the porn industry.
Tgirl is the acceptable word, but on HA they're just girls.

then why does HA have the word "shemale" all over?

OK, so what I will guess being a big fan of economics, is that using that word attracts people here and increases hits and therefore money for the site. I was not trying to suggest anything, just wondering why people were upset in threads about the word, but not in the site's terminology.

I am totally ok with this as I am a big fan of capitalism. I guess I never thought of it before now though.

Thanks for thinking that i was trying to suggest... I really have no idea.... and that I was trying to kill... my own thread??

no one is looking for hits and the site actually pre-dates Google.
the words under the banner are simply terms for tgirls used by the general public, not necessarily what we consider respectful among our HA community.
I thought my initial post answered your question. do you actually think this is about economics and making money?

Well, I am really new here. I am also a capitalist, and I figured that the bills don't pay themselves. What I am saying is that I can understand that using words to get hits makes business sense. If the community that you built here understands that you have to use words like that to support the community, they would be ok with that. I see that you have ads selling videos etc, and I have no problem using those words in a business purpose to increase sales. I'm sure that the posters here would not mind either if it meant that HA could exist and we could all interact with each other. I think HA is a great site, and I have not found anywhere else that even compares.

The only thing I was wondering is if Shemale was a derogatory term, because I saw posts saying that it was. If the majority says that it is kind of derogatory, but who gives a fuck if it helps support the community here, then great!

I am sooo not trying to be a troll, I just want to be sure that I don't piss people off.

Kelly, you are sooo hot!

I don't mind it when it's within the industry or coming from someone who has seen me naked on the internets, but if someone on the street called me a shemale I'd probably have to claw their eyes out.

To an extent it depends where you are. Transsexual women do not like the term "shemale" full stop. It is as you say a porn marketing term.

"Tgirl" might be okay in the US, I don't know, but in the UK it is habitually used by cocks-in-frocks, crossdressers, transvestites and assorted other male beasts to describe themselves, so genuinely transsexual women don't like it either.

"Women" or "girls" is safe.

This is one of the most pointless threads. It's like asking "what's more offensive? lady or slut"
