A man in Missouri has been arrested for possession of a hallucinogenic toad.
Police in Kansas City say David Theiss planned to get high by licking the Colorado River Toad's venom glands.

Far out: a Colorado river toadThe 21-year-old is accused of possessing the toad "with the intention of using it as a hallucinogen".

They said that many pet shops in the area do not stock the animal because the venom can make people sick and can kill household pets.

What the hell? I'm not as appalled by the toad licking dude as I am by the cops that turned the whole issue into a big deal. The guy's smart. Go out... find a toad. Lick it. Free high. That sure beats buying shit off the street, later finding out its laced or bunk. At least he knows where his drugs have been.

Sure, it wasn't very smart to go get high like that in the first place, but if he's going to do it, I think he found one of the safest routes. I'm just upset that the cops can't focus the attention elsewhere. I mean, get the drug dealers off school grounds. Tackle the real risk drugs first. Don't bust some guy's chops when he doesn't prove a danger to himself or others.

But seriously, what's the world coming to when you get arrested for licking a frog? There's a lot worse going on that the police constatly turn a blind eye to. There's a good chance the officer that arrested him was a drug user himself.
