Ok i've always been curious about this.

How can prositution be illegal but escorts be legal? Money is exhanged either way and "time" is spent either way. What makes working on the street illegal and working off a personal ad legal?

I ask this because I would really like to meet a TS some day when I have money to burn and I don't wanna do anything that could lead to an arrest or whatever lol.

As far as STDs goes, I'm not too concerned, and correct me if im wrong but I'm sure they worry about the same thing and want to protect themselves as well.

It depends where you are. One of the reasons that there's a little box in your profile for "Location" is so that people can help with questions like this.

As for STD's, no, you cannot assume that anyone else will take responsibility for your health and safety. It's YOUR lookout.

Well I'm in NJ, so I'd have no problem gettin a TS from NY... I think escorting is legal over there is it not?

Prostitution is the exchange of sex for money. And of course everyone knows that escorts don't do that, you are only paying for their company. In some areas escorts have to be licensed.

I'm not an escort... I'm a personal companion. :-)

And what happens in private between two concenting adults is nobodys business.

I don't see why prostitution is such a big deal to the government, it happens whether its legal or not, and from their POV, it'd be a great idea to make it legal and taxable, they could make some extra cash.
