Rich Franklin is an OK dude, but I have been following Anderson Silva's rise since he used to be champion over here in the UK, at Cage Rage.

He is the most lethal fighter I have ever seen, sometimes I have nightmares about awakening in the Cage opposite him and Big John McCarthy saying those dreaded words "Lets get it on"

But he is a super cool guy, after he fucked up Franklin’s nose for the second time you could see he felt bad, and the respect between the two after is what MMA should be about.

Bette was definately the superior actress- Joan was the better movie star.
Not that she was not talented- but she was glamorous, over the top and manipulated her image so. I think Bette disliked being a movie star but acting was on her blood.

Here are two of mine.

About Boudicca: The decisive battle where the rebellion was crushed, was one of the great victories by any Army in ancient times. The Britons vastly out numbered the Suetonius's Army and yet, the Romans lost 400 men as opposed to 80,000 Britons in this final battle, according to The Annals of Tacitus.

While it's fine to admire her, i'd like to point out that her side SHOULD have won. Given the numerical superiority that she enjoyed over her opponents. At the end of the day, her rebellion was very sloppy IMO. I admire her courage and will not her military strategy. Her loss of the battle you speak of was due to her blindling hate of the romans. She should have withdrew and forced them to fight on her terms. But the fact that she fought when no one else would says a lot.

Boudicca was from a family of collaborators who sided with the Roman occupiers of Britain to gain power, only to rebel against them when it suited her. She destroyed her whole tribe to try and further her own means.

Boudicca One of two British women to be mentioned by the Romans in their writings. She was the wife of King Prasutagus who was given the Client Kingship of the Iceni, after the Icenian civil war of 47AD. Following her husbands death around 60AD her kingdom was pillaged by the imperial procurator Decianus Catus, and when she took the matter to a higher Roman authority, she was publicly flogged and her daughters violated. Indignant at her treatment she instigated a rebellion within her tribe and, joined by the Trinovantes directly to the south, plundered the Romano-British towns of Camulodunum (Colchester), Verulamium (St. Albans) and Londinium (London) before being beaten in a pitched battle with the forces of the governor, Suetonius Paullinus, near Manduessedum in the midlands.

Did you actually read what I posted, loki? I DON'T THINK SO! You see the bit I underlined, "She was the wife of King Prasutagus who was given the Client Kingship of the Iceni, after the Icenian civil war of 47AD." A Client King was a puppet of Rome and only ruled by her grace. That means Boudicca's husband was a collaborator and helped the Romans rule the part of Britain her tribe occupied, just like the Vichy French helped the Germans maintain order in France during W.W.II..

From your link:
The Iceni had remained passive and watched while the Roman Emperor Claudius and his army conquered large parts of Britain in 43 CE. Since Claudius was founding strong military colonies all over the island, the Iceni knew they couldn't remain independent forever from Roman domination. In an attempt to avoid conflict, and in an act of compliance, King Prasutagus went to the city of Camulodunum to become a client/king. This forced him to have to answer to the Roman ruling class, but enabled his tribe and their culture to remain relatively unfettered.

After her husband the Client King died she had no more rights to "her" land under Roman Law. That's what the link you posted says:
Roman law, however, did not allow royal inheritance to be passed to daughters, and co-ownership of a kingdom with a woman was unacceptable according to Roman standards.

She was then flogged for causing trouble. It was only after losing her land and her dignity that she decided to rebel, i.e. when it suited her! Now where did I say anything contrary to that? You tried to make it out that Boudicca was some kind of hero when she was nothing more than a self-serving selfish bitch who got her whole tribe (plus others) massacred whilst trying to further her own means. Her family supported the Romans when it suited them, and rebelled against them when it didn't.

It would have saved me time if you'd just said that you couldn't read, loki. Maybe that's why you like to watch Fox News? If you want to keep embarassing yourself then that's fine by me. I will certainly oblige you if I have the time. It's nothing personal, it's just that I have a strong dislike of falsehoods in whatever form they take, and that's why I always feel the need to confront them, if I have the time to do so.

I admire the man in your first choice. You mind if i ask, why you picked Putin?
I have the same question as well. Also, who's the second guy, Quinn?

Rogers & M77, the man in the second pic is Warren Buffett who – along with George Soros – embodies certain perspectives I have regarding the financial markets and wealth as a whole. To understand why I respect Putin, and why he has a higher domestic approval rating than any head of state in the G8, you would have to have spent some time in Yeltsin's Russia.

Quinn, I'm afraid you've got me on that one. JMK?
In that vein mine is Donald Ratajczak, but it's kind of personal....best professor I ever had.
How's Atlanta treating you? Tell 'em TSAf sent you.

Damn it, I knew it wasn't a good choice (I didn't know what in the hell he looked like until I looked up his image). It was Noah Webster (a light-hearted allusion to the whole spelling joke we had going).

Anyway, Atlanta is good. Thanks for asking. As an aside, is Donald Ratajczak the same econometric forecaster who retired from GSU. If so, great choice (if memory serves, he had a reputation for extremely accurate forecasting).

Quinn, that's a big 10-4 on Ratajczak. I ought to get bonus points just for spelling THAT. My first econ class at GSU was macro in an amphitheatre class of about 80 and in walked DR and I thought 'great, like he'll really give a rat's ass about teaching 201 to a bunch of BBA dweebs'. Turns out he was a fantastic teacher, very enthusiastic, never missed a minute and twisted me to econ for a major.
Keep your eyes out for winter - in Atlanta it usually lasts about a week.
