in a world as fucked up as it is today porn is the least of peoples worries. the porn industry is a multi billion dollar a year industry and there is no way anyone could shut it down even if they where serius. sex is part of human nature and watching people have sex is just one aspect of it.

the sex industry and by that i mean porn, prostitusion and strip clubs is the oldest profetion in the world.

Well porn as a whole is not bad. Just like guns are not bad. Neither is anything to be concerned about until they are used inproperly or dangerously.

Speaking for myself i have at times gotten so into porn of all kinds that I would spend 6 hours looking a day. THAT IS NOT HEALTHY.

Also, I know it can harm relationships. We keep staring at these 18-19-20 year old hotties...........and then our sig others are growing older, fatter etc,,,,,,,,,,,,,

It can realy fuck you up if you over abuse it.

But the dick has no right to shut it down and will never be able to. I am sure he is jerking of to Viki Richter in between meetings.

So typical of a do-nothing, spineless, non-principaled, ineffective politician.
When you fail to stand for anything that is important to today's society, i.e. taxes, trade deficits, national security, crime, poverty, just ATTACK PORN! Hatch should stick to working on his men's room toe tapping technique.

PS - LMAO @ down the Hatch!

will never happen

Porn is mainly on the net now and like a $6 Billion industry.

It's not happening. Too much money there

He's playing 'moral', to get re-elected, that's all.

He probably either has more porn or visits more prostitutes than anyone else in congress.

It's almost a rule of thumb, that the more a congressman, politician, preacher, etc - is interested in aggressively going after something deemed 'immoral', the more they're actually into it.

That's exactly what the deal is. They "investigate" the porn industry, you know, so they can see how bad it is, then head off for the airport bathroom. Whoops. Damn that wide stance.

It's also like the guys who post here occasionally saying they are collecting material for a research paper or something.

For those of you who say it will never happen, just look at what happened to online gambling. Just because something is internet based, international, or pervasive, doesn't mean it is immune to interference. All the government did was make it illegal to use credit cards or money transfers, and the financial institutions complied and that put a huge hurt on a what had been a successful and growing industry.

Apathy kills. Stay politically engaged and vote for candidates who support the First Amendment and free speech issues.

For what? He probably already does that behind closed doors. Just videotape him in the act.

the govt. has been trying to shut down porn companies and websites for years.Yall should take a look at the 2257 law and see what extreme nonsense we,the adult providers, have to go through to stay in business...its a very poorly veiled attempt to make it so much trouble and work that many sites have simply gone out of business.

As far as porn going belly-up,there are many places in the world, not just Muslim countries, where it is illegal to buy a Playboy magazine...Like Felicia Katt said stay involved, these fuckers are slowly stealing it all away.

Agreed. It's a cheap shallow trick that a lot of politicians play, when they run out of ideas. Same as the press... sex sells...

Only reason they took action at gambling is, like with drugs and prostitution, is cause the feds can't make money from it.

Excllent point. completely agree on apathy...

One minor nit...this was less about the morals of gambling but where the gambling money was going. Instead of offshore sites, congress would prefer you gamble your money at your local casinos, lotto, etc.
