It does look/sound great... hope that it isn't a big disappointment.

One thing about all the CGI movies coming out, is maybe they will encourage a backlash of acting-driven films (not the quirk-for-quirk's sake 'Indy' bollocks).

I miss good old-fashioned celluloide (sp?), it had a texture that CGI can never replace.

Seen it. It's slightly different to the poem but it's far better than "300" imho. Beowulf looks more like Sean Bean than Ray Winstone though, and there is a real lack of life in the eyes of the "actors". I'm very fussy about what movies I buy on DVD but I might get this one. Looking forward to "I Am Legend" next. :D

I detest CGI films, beginning with the afwul Star Wars prequels, then onto the absolute waste of two hours of my life called "300",but this film was actually pretty enjoyable, and as I said in previous thread I started I didnt see it in 3-D yet.

BTW this post makes me a tranny expert....1000

The problem with CGI is that the more realistic they make things look, the more cadaver like the characters appear.. same with computer/console games...I find that reassuring.. that said...I re-watched the trailer... must see.. :D

J. R. R. Tolkien author of the Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings to name a few, got his inspiration largely from the poem Beowulf, and other writings between the 8th and 11th century.
Beowulf was his favorite .
And he often read it to his students at Oxford
