To make some peace here, he's probably just thinking of Iran, where transsexuals are allowed to exist, provided they lop it off immediately (paid by the government, to top), while homosexuals are publicly hung.

I have absolutely no idea what the situation is, for the rest of the middle east, but that is how it goes there.

I was in Istanbul a couple of years ago staying at the Hilton in the city center. There were a lot of street girls walking around at night in and around the shopping district only a couple of blocks from the hotel.
