"Italian" Shemale DVDs and their AKAs.

Hi all,

I've spent the last 12 months or so, putting together a collection (covers, screen caps & sample clips) of the DVDs originating from Italy for the transsexual genre.

The pattern seems to be that the Italian studio releases a DVD which is then re-released (AKAs), with a new cover and title, by other studios for foreign markets.

To date, I've found 246 shemale DVDs which were released by 24, mainly Italian, studios, with 413 AKAs from 94 other international studios and 6,117 sets of sample clips.

I use the DVD covers and screen caps to identify which sample clips relate to which Italian DVD and store the results in several Excel spreadsheets.

One of the numerous beneficial side effects of this exercise has resulted in a limited amount of knowledge about Italian shemales and their DVDs, which I'm happy to share.

That's why I put "" around Italian as a pointer at the origins of most of the shemale performers in these DVDs.

It seems that, as you say, the vast majority of these shemales are from elsewhere, whilst the males, females and directors are mostly from Italy.

But, on the up-side, at least these DVDs were produced in Italy.

The most of them from Brazil, some from Argentina and other South American countries too

I've done some more investigation work on Raissa Mecco/Melo/Mello.

If you initiate any googles on the variations of her name as above you will get many results, most of which will lead you to the various DVDs as per my list.

However, if you initiate a google for Rayssa Melo you will find that the early days of her career were spent in Brazil, modelling and escorting, as per this short list.

Italian She Male #26 is very new and, as such, it's unlikely that you'll find it very much cheaper than the price quoted by Pink'o Enterprise.

However, if you were to google using "Italian She Male #26" dvd (don't forget to use the quote marks) you may get lucky.

I've found that it's not only a trend with Italian releases I think that possibly/probably most studios operate this licensing agreement with other studios all over the world. I suspect that it's most likely far cheaper than releasing their own unique product.

I've tentatively began to look at DVDs coming into Italy and Europe from elsewhere and the same pattern of AKAs is slowly emerging.

Is Sibille the gurl in the pair of attached pics? Up to now she was listed as unidentified. These pics are of scene 5 from the DVD "A Carmensita la Figa a Sparita". How were you able to identify her? Do you have a cast list for this Boss Film DVD which was released during 2004?

I've just posted a reply in a thread which is entitled Shemale Spectacular #2 in another forum.

The author/poster had not know that it was an AKA of an Italian original. As is the case with 14 of the 20 shemale DVD titles released by the American DNA/Meltdown studio.

This is one of the reason why I undertook my research project and why I'm now sharing my findings with you and them.

Here's a quick correction to Rayssa Melo's filmography.

Contrary to my original statement, Rayssa Melo is not in the DVD "Joey Silvera's Rogue Adventures #6. There is, apparantly, a Raissa on the cast list but it's not our Rayssa.

It also clears up the problem with Rayssa's age.

I've realised that my last post didn't really do you the courtesy of answering yours. I'm sorry about that. :oops:

One of the very early things I too noticed, when I began collecting sample clips etc, was that, in general, Italian shemale movies seem to have higher property values than most others in the genre. That was how, to some extent, I was able to recognize them as being relevent for my exercise.

I think that it's possibly two way traffic when it comes to Italians visiting Brasil. There are certainly a lot of Brazilian and South American shemales who move to Italy and get involved in escorting and the porn movie industry.

Do you ever get to visit Itally, being part Italian and all?

Both of your discoveries are, as you suspected, AKAs. Here's a challenge for you, can you tell me which other DVDs they're AKAs of?

Don't be disheartened, the fact that you're looking for, and finding, more and more Rayssa DVD titles means that you've entered the world of AKAs.

It will seem a bit daunting at first, as I found, but, after a while, things will become easier as you become more famiiar with the faces and eventually the names too.

May I suggest, that's if you're not already doing it, that you create a folder for each Rayssa DVD title. They're for the DVD covers and screen caps. This will help you to match the many DVDs which you say she's seems to have been in.
