The sight of an old man being hit by a truck in Arizona touched off a feeding frenzy among witnesses who allegedly stole the dying victim's groceries.

Not only were the man's groceries taken, but the only person who tried to help him also had his own bags taken.

Mesa police told KPHO-TV in nearby Phoenix that the scavengers could face theft charges if they are eventually tracked down.

The elderly victim was waiting for a bus Tuesday night when a pickup truck swerved off the road and plowed into the stop. The man was sent flying as were his bags of groceries.

As the truck sped off with a white plastic bag flapping on its grill, witnesses began grabbing whatever scattered food they could get their hands on. Boro Mitrovich, who was himself nearly struck, said he ran to help the man and had his bag disappear as well.

"One minute it was on the ground, the next minute it was gone," Mitrovich told KPHO.

Some people are just cruel cold-hearted human beings.Instead of helping a dying man, they just steal his things and steal from the person that is helping him.All i have to say is karma should be banging on their door any minute now.

Some posters -- one or two in here -- will post anything to display what "great guys" they are, and also ingratiate themselves with this forum. This will supposedly demonstrate that they have a heart and therefore do have something to contribute to this forum, their rank hypocrisy, ignorance, and stupidity notwithstanding.

Thats far from the truth,i've said this time and time again i don't care how anyone preceives me on this forum from being a scumbag to "great guy" i just don't care.Just because i'm not into porn or attend those parties looking to get laid doesn't mean you or anyone can judge me.Seanchai you are the type of person who dislikes someone because they don't agree with your ideologic views or praise you for your work.I can give my opinion on different subjects just like the next person as a mod you should encourage discussion instead of throwing your views around like your bill oreilly or rush limbaugh.

You can't discuss anything on this forum with someone bringing there personal feelings into every single thread here,i posted this to display what some people are capable of nowadays,i already know HA is capable of producing drama queens.

Man, that really sucks. I have very little faith in humans and sure wouldn't want to depend on the kindness of a stranger to save my life. This must have been the part of town where Patton Oswalt's cell phone cuts out.

Maybe they just realized that he wasn't going to need them anymore. Why let it go to waste???

I'm not sure who to blame, the people or the society that drove them to this behavior.

Only so many people can help one dying man.

What were the others supposed to do, wait 'till the coroner came and got the body, and then pick up groceries that have been ruined in the desert sun?

Yeah, it's a tragedy. But let's not be stupid and allow food to go to waste. Somebody obviously needed it more than the dead man.

Come on claire this isn't a third world country where food is hard to come by.I think those people were stealing just to steal not to survive.

Have you ever been homeless and plagued with psychological disease?
Not everyone out there has the ability to hold themselves together as well as you. Maybe some of them are just lazy, but I know for a fact that there are alot of people out there who are haunted by parts of their psyche that they cannot control or understand; people who don't know that help is available or are afraid to get help at all and are no longer capable of functioning in a working society. Some of these people have children. And I would much rather see them with food in their stomachs than go around ranting about morality in the face of death.

compleate copout, most likely they were illegals who stole the stuff
society does not drive a person to steal, people need to take responsibility for themselves, it was a totally classless act, they were probably poor since pretty much the only people in phx who ride a bus dont have the means for other transportation (this city isnt much for public transport) but that is no excuse for doing that, also on the news the man who was helping the dieing man had his stuff stolen also. so dont make up reasons to steal its a copout

I don't know what's worse, this story, or some of the reactions to it here.

For those wishing to blame society...please. We are all responsible for our own actions as individuals. "Society made me do it" is the lamest cop out since "My dog ate my homework". Take some fucking responsibility for your personal actions.

For those justifying it on the grounds that the thieves may have been hungry. Well boo fucking hoo, hungry or not, 1) they were not your property 2) you stepped over a dying man to get them.
Would you also spin this BS justification if the guy wasn't hit by a car, and the mob just descended upon him because they were hungry and he had the food? Fuck that.

Bearded one has it dead on. Most people suck. Even better said...Most people are dicks.

LOL!

Can anyone else believe this clown? He actually has the nerve to call another poster self-righteous and judgmental? If there has ever been a quintessential pot calling the kettle black situation, this is it. Ha-ha!

He has to be all of 14 years of age. He has to!

Getting back to the topic.

Phoenix sucks at best - and this is obviously an example of why.

But Phoneicians aren't alone.

Jessica and I were hanging out in our condo complex's jacuzzi drinking beer with some neighbors for about an hour last weekend. Jessica spent too long in the hot water and as we were walking to the elevator she nearly passed out.

I grabbed her as she was starting to keel over and was trying to drag her deadweight to a bench - this fat piece of sh*t stood there waiting for the elevator and even after I asked him twice to help me didn't make a move - the Mother F**ker said to "call security."

I'm a really sweet, loving T-girl as some of you know, and I haven't seen that loser since, but please, just let me catch him in the elevator alone sometime.

Nobody, ever, screws with my baby.

Hugs,
TS Jamie :-)
PS - Jess is fine.
