Just curious, would anybody join a paysite that featured original, ongoing shemale comics, done by pro artists (regularily updated titles, several different storylines, bunch more ideas I'm thinking about)?

Thanks for the input blckhaze, I'd definately have the site accept checks (I'm not sure on the mechanics, just working out the fundamentals right now).

Another thing that would be cool is trying to get girls in the scene to script out storylines to be animated.

I got a ton of ideas about this thing.

I'd be very interested, as long as they aren't anime girls. I'm just not turned on by those big-eyed nymphettes, cocks or not. More realistic, a la "Starr"on Allanah's site I'd like. Also, try to avoid ultra-gigantic cock fetish stuff. You can draw a big cock without it looking like it should be on the Jolly Green Giant. The irreality spoils it for me.

I'd like to feature a variety of artists, some of them anime (Futanari is actually the term used for this genre in Japan), but there's a huge variety of styles from artists all over the world. I've got several artists in mind, but they don't work cheap.

Like I said, I'm just working in the idea phase right now.

The capital required to launch this site, naturally, is a problem right now.

HR sorry if some of these sound a little obvious...

1. Copyright issues. Make sure everything you're showing you have the rights to - to get a massive amount of material you should contact publishers of the hentai to see if you can license.

2. Starting a site...two choices. Either start as a small fan site, small server, nominal ($4.95 a month or less) payment and try and get people to draw, contribute and build up a community until you see how big a potential membership you can get, constantly expanding and gradually increasing membership to compensate you for the extra servers/speed, material etc
OR
go in it full force and invest $20k+ into a site that starts big and delivers. Problem is you're going to need 6 months of updates and not expect to make you're money back for a year although it should start supporting itself in a few months. It's a risk (1 out of 2 of my sites have failed over the past 8 yrs)

If anyone has any inroads into Japanese TS porn let me know - I've the means to work at this and any potential partner who can get access to the material or models could find it extremely lucrative.

As far as copyright goes, I wouldn't want to use anything pre-existing. All the good material in this genre right now is japanese hentai, which I suppose I could aquire the rights to and translate into english (the panels I posted were translated, via photoshop, by fans), but it seems more cost effective to commission new work. Typical artist fees for original art is $60-$100 per page (typically 4-6 panels per page).

I've got a database of artists I'd want to contact, storylines I'd like to pursue, and shemale talent I'd like to contact for creative input. But as far as start-up cash, that's going to take some time or a bank heist :)

As you said, you have the means to realistically make something like this happen. Send me an email if you want, give me a shot to pitch this idea at ya. I think it could be a whole new facet of the TS scene (and alot of fun, too).

not to derail the thread, but have you seen http://lustomic.com/ - they do something similar to what you're proposing. some of their stuff is quite good, though i'm not crazy about their model of paying per "publication".

Interesting site, though. I'm going to delve headlong into it as soon as I get off work. Seems kinda tilted towards the s/m scene, which isn't a primary direction I'd want SpunkyFox to go in.

And I agree, paying per publication would have it's benefits to the people running the site (can pay artists with royalties vs lump sum, among other things), but it still seems like a pretty sucky way to do business.

I checked out the lustomic site, good art, talented artists, but way too heavy on the s/m side. Here's a list of features it says are contained in one of the issues (by Baldazinni, a tru pro from Italy):

Just a little to lurid for my tastes. Gags? Piercings? Enemas!?! No thanks.

I'm thinking more along the lines of fun, sexy, very hot and explicit to be sure, but not way out there. Also I think long story arcs, maybe with artists on contract or something, would keep people coming back. Maybe post a new page or two everyday, get people into the habit of checking the site and being rewarded once a day with something new.

I wouldn't join because I already recognize some of those works by doujinshi (indepentent/ameteur) artists. The one at the bottom is Amanoja9's work, and it's scanlated, meaning it's not licenced in the us. I wouldn't pay for it.

Those are Examples of the Type of material that would be on the site. They themselves, would not be on the site. Only original art commissoned from the artists would.

But the gallantry and respect for the work of hentai artists you exhibited in your post was, uh, admirable.
