anybody else feel that HA would be more streamlined if the general board was broken up?

people come to HA for lots of different reasons and the general board is like a prison yard where everybody gets stuck together which creates conflicts. i think HA would be better off if everyone was given their own section of the yard to hangout.

i propose to break up the general board into 3 new boards:

1. ts talk - anything ts related not having to do with pics. gossip, social issues, etc.

2. off topic - anything not ts related. celeb stuff, random news, yada yada yada.

3. tranny pix - pic threads, pic identifications, pic requests.

thoughts?

I like the tranny pics idea, maybe include vids as well. It might be easier to organize and categorize stuff if there was a separate forum for it.

I don't know if there is enough content to justify splitting up ts stuff and regular bullshit, though.

Great idea and i've suggested something of that nature before,so many interesting discussions get lost in the "who is this porn star" and big penis threads.I really think there should be a off topic section because i've had a mod send me a message a while ago and tell me my gaming thread doesn't belong here and if i wanted to post about gaming i should go to a gaming board.

We really have girls who come here curious about transitioning and not being into porn,i just think some of the porn threads kinda scare them away,so the ts talk section is an excellent concept.

As for the tranny pix section it would just give the girls a clear view who are really interested into getting to know the them,their lifestyle and chasers and cock bandits,not saying that all guys on here are like that but the number is quite large.

Those were my opinions and if you don't like them,you can kiss my ass.

if you want to see GD broken up into more forums look at the sports & poli/reli forums, they all started here and folks whined so much about those topics overpowering their lil "chicks with huge hung veiny dicks" posts that those other forums were created

I think the general section is sort of good the way it is because sometimes it creates more stimulation for the "ts talk topics." Sometimes you go onto the forum to look for tranny pictures or something but than all the sudden you see a great topic (e.g. are tranny chasers gay...lol) and you get into it although that wasn't your first intention. And sometimes doing these ts talk trends ppl want to post tranny pictures. So topics/trend can't just always fit into 1 category or sometimes a trend may start out as "ts talk" but ends being a tranny picture trend. It just makes it easier for a person to see all the topics soemtiems than having to click on these different headings.

I think the General fourum is fine just the way it is. This way we can see everyones ideas and opinions in one place. Som of them are wacky some crazy, some just down right stupid and some are logical and reasonable informative. It would be a bummer to isolate all the idiots to one board that only the idiots post in. And besides, there are already seven other boards that you can post in.

why don't we just give every member their own sub board? We can all blog instead of posting. Its bad enough that the board has been Balkanized to exclude politics and religion. If you are only here for the porn, and you can't bear to see the few threads here on this discussion board, where discussions are taking place, you might want to reconsider your relationship with porn.

Its a cocktail party, not a prison yard. No one is forcing anyone to read anything. If a thread doesn't interest you, move onto one that does, don't move the threads.

Among the posters here, we have some who are busy mingling with whoever will talk to them; others who are off to the side critiquing the place's motif or what someone is wearing; some who are getting into disagreements and fights; some getting heavily into political and social discussions; some inquiring about who has the best drugs; some eyeing the silverware; and -- AND -- the obligatory witnessing by everyone of two drunk guys attempting to dance while sporting lampshades. ... The only way it stays a party, is if it stays under one roof. Breaking it up only places everything under different roofs, which loses something.

Also, Splintering the porn from the rest of the general might do more harm to this site than good long term and overall. HUNGANGELS as a website already has the most TS specific forum traffic on the web. Why would the owner want to tinker with that and risk devaluing his/her own site......that wouldn't make practical business sense.

I cant see the point in bitching bout the "pic-thread" vs. "serious topic" thread anyways. hmmmm those pic threads normally are identifiable in a second, it has something with "huge dick" in the subject line and the paper-clip ..... if you dont care for hat stuff, DONT look at it. if i log on I usually check out the first three pages or so, and within three seconds I know which threads to check out.

it once again boils down to us users. it would be just great if basic rules of journalism were followed, like giving some accurate information in the subject line, not only "question" instead of "question about....." -

This is one of the few nice boards out there that thankfully isn't busy on its first page. You pop in here, and BAM!, there it is. Compartmentalized labrynths with this here and that there just aren't very appealing or as user friendly.

as far as the porn goes, anybody in the know knows that HA is the last place to come for tranny porn. you think it's about the porn, but it ain't. the idea of splitting the pics and discussion is so people can focus more on each. try taking a week off of HA, then come back. tell me it wouldn't be nice if you could catch up on everything without having to sift through all the who is this/pic threads. think about how nice it'll be to click on a board and have it all be ts discussion.

I guess I did misread you and you apparently do read my posts (I really wonder sometimes, if anyone does) LOL

Now having your idea in context, I think you are well intentioned but still misguided. I would rather see the other boards reintegrated with the general discussion one, and maybe there could be some way of distinguishing types of threads by title or font or font color or something like that. Order from chaos through organization, not separation. I think the great strength of this board is the diversity of its posters and topics and hate that either of them are segregated. You never know when someone who came here for the pictures may have something valuable to say. And you never know when some know it all, bitchy Hung Angel with an opinion on everything may post a picture of Nadia or Angelica :)

i don't think splintering the board will stunt the traffic at all. it might even increase a little when people come to check out the changes. the long run is exactly why i think the board should be broken up now. can you imagine separating the threads when there's over a 1000 pages of them?

I never favored the Balkanization (good term, FK) of the board with Rilijin and Pollitiks broken off. The only additional subforum idea I like is the one I believe LG came up with a couple of months back: a forum were each transwoman here, if she wants it, can have her own thread. But while I like the logic of that, I'm sure the logistics would break down in no time (how would you enforce the structure without a huge commitment by the mods?).

Well,everyone has their own personal reasons for posting here and while some come here for the pics or whatever some come because they like discussing topics like gaming with the people whom they have gotten to know here.I respect your reasons whatever it may be but its no better then anyone elses.

It was kind of odd to recieve a message like that from a mod because i've seem nyce and some mods make gaming posts and/or threads here.So if a mod sends me messages claiming i shouldn't post certain topics here you and everyone else can see why i would suggest an off topic section.

NO - leave it a melting pot. I am involved with a "straight" escort site in CA, and they recently split the forums up - with a major loss of participation.

It's too much trouble to go to different forums and follow threads all over the place - and moderators have to be around to move messages, etc.

This is fine as it is. Sometimes anarchy reins, but it's easy to find stuff.

I'm reminded of two cliche's - "if it ain't broke don't fix it" and "keep it simple stupid."

Just my opinion.
