working sux in general, but people gotta eat. sometimes you cant be that picky, and the means of earning money can be harsh at times.

so, whats been ur most unwanted job, yet you had to work it due to unfavourable circumstances.

mine was

furniture remover

its fekkin exhausting, the payment is on the micro-level, and contrary to popular beliefs it doesnt help with muscle-building - since its all lifting and carrying thechniques, and not power.

so, compadres, what was your least wanted paid activity you ever had???

Before I transitioned from male to female, I was a femme gay man who dressed as a woman and worked at an escort service. Some of men I was with were handsome and nice, but still I wouldn't want to do it again.

Actually the worst job I had was working at a factory. Worse than being an escort.

Thankfully I am transitioned now to being a beautiful feminine lady, and am with a wonderful handsome masculine man. And I work part time at a woman's store and am my man's housewife.

Working in a farm. I was doing that as a summer job when I was 14yo and it motivated me to do long studies! :-)

Washing dishes to pay my way through college. Now there's a job where suicide's considered an alternate lifestyle!

*Oh, and doing clean-up at a pork processing plant was pretty nasty too! I'll never look at strip of bacon the same way again! :smh

Working the midnight shift at UPS loading trucks. Started at 11:00 p.m. and got out at 7:00 a.m. It was hard work actually and the hours sucked baboon dick.

The runner up to that is construction job I had where I was in the demolition end. Working out doors in any weather

graveyard shift frame tech for Verizon. I worked for midnight to 8am pulling dead wires. The wires were thin and sharp and should slice through your fingers really easy, I'd go through two or three pairs of gloves a week. On top of that the day techs would undo all our work by running new wires through the areas we were trying to clear out.

Washing dishes was definitely not high on my list. Atleast the people I worked with were awesome.
I also had a job shoveling roofs. Risking falling to your death (and the back strain) for $10 an hour just doesn't seem worth it.
And cleaning hotel rooms was shit.

Closing at a movie theater, aka getting out around 2am-ish, then driving half an hour home, trying to sleep, and then having to make another half hour drive to open a self-serve gas station at 4:45am. The gas station job sucked enough by itself, but when combined with little to no sleep, it really sucked.

It was one of these two jobs:

1) Working with injection molding equipment at a factory;
2) Working at a café/delicatessen for a retired mobster with an extremely bad case of OCD.

I can beat everyone on this one. Go to Google Earth, type in 408 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis, MN.

Check out the roof on that building (it's an old picture, the roof has been redone since then). Directly beneath the roof is the attic, where I've spent years running various light/sound cables and electric lines. That roof started to leak when it rained, so I got to spend most of one summer hauling huge buckets of tar up a very long staircase, and spreading it on the roof, under the blazing sun, just so my cables didn't get fucked up.

The black parts of the roof are what I'm talking about. It was so fuckin hot at times, I had to take breaks standing in a walk-in cooler just to survive. That sucked.

Well, we all know how much washing dishes sucks, so you know that's one job I will never do again (and that was back when min wage was $3.65/hr).

But working as Seafood Prep, cutting up various kinds of fish and related seafood, at a Japanese market while only being paid $6.00/hour, and having a Chinese supervisor who would ridicule me in Chinese in front of the other workers whenever I fucked up, really ranks (and yes, reeks) as THE worst job I've ever had!!! :frustrated

Toss up between Restaurant Dishwasher and Gas Jockey.

Though close, I think Gas Jockey wins. Not only was I working the late shift (can you say open invitation to armed robbery?), but the owner was a scumbag who consistently cheated his employees out of the minimum wage he was paying us.

How convenient that my shift ending numbers always seemed to be "off" come the end of the week.

I didn't hold this job so I don't know if this counts but a friend of mine, when he was really desperate, got a job as a janitor in a porn shop. One of his tasks was to mop the cum off the the ceiling and floors of the booths. he lasted three days, which is two more than I would have.

hooker on craigslist... yeah that was a real highlight

Yeah Jen, I can relate... Worse than CL - try Sunset Blvd. :-)

I made paint for two days - and I once had a high paying job at a defense plant where I had to undergo an FBI background check.

My job... bear in mind this required a "Top Secret" clearance... I screwed little plastic caps onto the threads of 50 cent titanium screws the govt paid $60 each for that went into some airplane. I lasted 4 days on that one.

And I worked for a few months in a convelscent hospital. It maybe wasn't my worst but surely my saddest job. I remember one old guy who'd had a stroke and would beg anyone passing by to kill him. And the old people nobody ever came to visit, and one day you'd come to work and the bed would be empty.

Sigh,
TS Jamie :-)

Was this before or after you transitioned? I only ask because I used to know a guy in the BDSM community who refused to use his real name or let anyone take pictures of him because he had a government contract as an engineer and anything in his background that he might be "blackmailable" for would get him fired.

Worst job... picking apples. It was in college.

Not picking off apples off the tree, but from apples that had already fallen off the tree (for cider).

I'd get paid $7 to fill a 3x3x3 box (thats 27 sq feet of apples)

I decided to quit after some a picked up an apple and a bunch of tiny bees flew out of a hole in the ground and stung me.

Now I work in a white collar job and I'm lucky to go outside.

I was a package handler at UPS in college. It was decent money for a 18-19 year old kid. But the plant was filthy. After my shift, I'd blow my nose and pitch black shit would come out.

I became a bartender after that.

It was a total nightmare! Thankgoodness for Hellfire Club so I switched doing BDSM and started working as a pro domme. Which I totally enjoyed! :P

Quite a few, actually. Now, the "fabrication" floor wasn't so bad; it was usually refrigerated and, since it was finishied product, just had trimmings to deal with.

Kill floor, OTOH, that's where all the interesting stuff was. Blood, guts, nuts, and damned-if-I-know-whats, it was all there on an unrefrigerated, and rather hot, kill floor. :puke The worst stuff, for smell and general pain-in-the-ass factor, to work with was, interestingly enough, the hair! We used high pressure steam hoses, so as soon as you hit the stuff, it exploded everywhere! It was a bitch to control, and, since the pigs had been stuck and "boiled" before they were dehaired, well, the smell *of animal dander, coupled with boiled blood and pig shit took one hell of a strong stomach to deal with.

Definitely preferred the fab floor! 8)

*Edit: so THAT's what the "preview" button's for!

Yes, it was when I was about 18-19, all of them. Sucked. I later became a photojournalist - a lot of you have probably seen my photos - I have over 5,000 published images and worked for a major newspaper and occasionally for the AP and many magazines.

That was a pretty good career - to bad it only paid about 1/3 as much as a hooker makes...

Giggle,

Working in a nursing home many years ago. Helping old people shower wasn't a highlight, lol. It was fun and touches my heart in one way though. I remember my favorite person. This old woman named Agnes. She adored me. I would get her up every morning and help her get dressed as she told me stories about her life. Even though she was in a nursing home she still always wanted to look nice. So I would pick out her outfit then I would paint her face and do her hair like she was ready for a drag show, lol. She thought she was the hottest piece of ass in the home, lol it still cracks me up when I think of it.

In high school I worked on a chicken farm, an enormous one. It was dirty and smelly. Often you had to wear a surgical mask to keep the dust out of your nose. My brother-in-law got me the job, but it was also tough because these farm boys would abuse me because I was effeminate. I was forced to give them BJs to avoid being punched silly.

Roofing sucks. I will never forget the time growing up when a bunch of the guys in my family decided to try DIY roofing on our roof... omg what a disaster, I am surprised no one died.

I don't remember how old I was at the time, but the sadist in me found it fun to just sit outside in the shade drinking ice water while they introduced new words into my vocabulary while having one heck of a time.

Teenage summer job - "on call, post event cleanup crew"

Three of the calls were to scoop poop from the animals in summer parades. I started off with dignity but was completely wrung out as the parade went on. The worst part covered the last 1/3 of the route where everyone was absolutely drunk and took no hesitation in verbally humiliating me.

It was a bit like the wave - only in insults rather than raised arms. A drunk guy just behind me would finish harassing me just as the sauced group of teens would holler something disgusting, fully encouraging the next group of creeps just up the street to lay into me.

Got paid $20.

Shit. Literally and figuratively.

Been there and done that. My uncle had a tire shop and I was free teenage labor. I've still got shoulders like a damned gorilla from slingin',retreading, and changing tires.

There's a reason most of the guys who work in tire shops are ex-cons or drug addicts. It's shitty job.

One of the worst jobs I ever had would probably surprise some of you. I worked road crew/security for a regional entertainment promoter in the 70's. It's was a fucking grind. Lived on speed and cheeseburgers. You'd set up,deal w/ unruly fans/primadonna acts, tear down, drive all night and do it all again, day after fucking day.

The upside was the drugs were good and you got the pick of the local girls wanting back stage. After you picked up the clap for the umpteenth time even the latter lost it's appeal.

never had a job i didn't like as i didn't take it if i hated it. luckily i was never in a position to do work out of obligation/desperation rather than choice. the toughest job though i would say is sales (mostly ebay). it was never ending running my own small business for about 8 months or so selling video games. not rewarding, not fun, and i much rather work for someone than myself knowing i have zero liability and worries and have no care about the job or business itself once i clock out.
