Bullshit.

If they were to come after every john and/or prostitute on Craigslist, they'd spend more money doing that than Occupying Iraq.

Sure, there are some sting operations in a few select cities, But, such is the risk you take for not being informed and knowledgeable.

The vast majority will carry on with "business as usual".

Normally I would steer clear of this topic for unstated reasons... but I feel the need to state the obvious

1. The law enforcement activity that is going on is not directed to any sexual preference. It is truly controlled by the DA or jurisdictional prosecutor. As each has limited resources, decisions are made for most bang for the buck (couldn't resist that one - lol). The 'buck' in this instance is arrests and convictions (by plea, judge and jury - in that order).

Therefore - going where every knucklehead goes - is generally a bad idea. Similarly, going where the ladies/escorts have acted in such a way as to come to the attention of the authorities is an equally bad idea. Finally, the more upscale the location - the more likely any distrubance will result in a response by the authorities.

2. Law enforcement is not coming to your door because you exchanged e-mails with MsTSofYourDreams or whomever. Provided you are not attempting to enage an underage individual (that's a special category of offense that should not be a problem for this community).

The stings that occur are through a practice of having the 'johns' [those that are soliciting prostitution] come into a location for the purpose of soliciting or engaging in prostitution AFTER they have evinced a desire to solict and/or engage in the act. Law enforcement's desire to have the john come to a location is to establish at least the minimum evidence of that desire.

3. Unfortunately, I aniticipate the current sting operations will increase in number. Why? Honestly, the collateral crimes are rising around these activities. I think most forum members would be shocked at the high rate of robbery and assault inflicted on johns by certain ladies/escorts. What is more shocking is the rate of reports for these victims is abysmal! Therefore the real numbers are actually unknown - but the antidotal evidence is, again, shocking. Simply stated - more upstanding clients are complaining to the authorities and therefore there is an increase in enforcement.

Advice? Knowledge is Power.

Nuff Said.

you guys say what you want

but fox has pull
if it made head line news
why even deal with the b.s
that was a warning shot
you are going on your own opinion
deal with the facts

people on this board had made topics
about craigslist
working with the police
they have not took off the ads
so people are going to jail

some states
you get a fine or jail time or both

im just letting everyone know
if you deal with craigslist for sex
you might go to jail.

It isn't just Craigslist. LE is busting girls from Eros, and most other advertiser sites as well. Apparently even some rather "famous" girls are getting caught up in the web and having to spend a few days "away".

Because CL is free, many of the providers there are probably very sloppy about things, and thus low hanging fruit to LE, but make no mistake if you are working, no place is truly "safe" to advertise. Even if you don't advertise, if enough complaints come into LE, they will put your location on the list.

Bottom line is NOT to work if one can, period.

Remember also arresting prossies, is a big money making thing for many LE departments. All those fines and "free" labour in terms of community serivce add up. Not to mention LE gets to brag about how they are decreasing public morals crimes with very little risk to themselves.

Also vice work and busts are gravy to many LE. All those arrests mean extra processing work and that means overtime. If they are called upon to testify at trail, that means a days pay for sitting around at a courthouse all day waiting to be called to give evidience.

Is that the guy who sticking a vibrator in his ass while talking to a woman on the phone or was that someone else?

I remember when that stuff went down with O'Reilly settling out of court. I watch his show and he mentioned the settlement and said that he would refuse to talk about it. I know O'Reilly has about as many people that hate him as like him. But, does anyone know the actual truth about what this was all about? All I know is something about phone calls and dildos and I'm not sure that was even true.

EDIT: Never mind. I found out from a few sources.

I think everybody should complletely disregard every waning and indication of intolerance regarding the use of public media to market your wares. Get busted you dumb-asses. Just don't expect sympathy. You were warned!
