After many years of being subjected to a religious upbringing, and many later years as a staunch atheist (and siding with authors such as Dawkins, Alper and Hauser) I must agree with the Buddhist conclusion that for everything we know, the opposite is always true. In other terms, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Arguing the existence of a god is a futile endeavor. Some feel connection to 'a' god, others don't. Theists won't (generally) sway the opinion of atheists, and same argument, subjects reversed.
So then, I see no need for religious debate. Politics is even less interesting...
