For anyone that really knows San Francisco/Bay area inside out ...

Here in San Diego, we have a place about three miles from the airport called Hotel Circle (where most escorts visiting stay) which has just about every national inn and hotel to fit any budget within walking distance of one another. Is there such a place in the bay area, and if so, what's it called and where is it located? I'll be visiting some friends in Belmont, but also plan on dropping into Divas while I'm there.

I asked this in Leora's thread but got completely ignored. Yes, she's a beautiful young woman, and yes it was her thread, but this was something that could have been answered easily with a simple response such as:

"Yes, there is such a place and it's in this area ..."

or

"No, I haven't seen any place as you have described San Diego having ..."

I guess it was simply too much to ask.

Here's a link to this map below (with rates). Just judging from your desires, a hotel in the downtown area may be what you need. It doesn't need to be one of these, but this is the general area you want to be (where all the red circles are).

I never stayed in a hotel in SF. I have gone back there, but I usually stay at an economical motel down the peninsula, in South SF or further (no bridges to pay tolls to cross). Anyway, I am not the hotel expert you seek, but I hope this may help.

Thanks. How far down the peninsula are we talking? What are these locations called and how far are they from the San Francisco airport?

Thanks again.

The more northerly ones are in the Wharf area and North Beach. The others are all in downtown. If you go to the link, you will see the names of the hotels... but there are probably many other hotels in downtown SF. If you just stick to that area, you will be close enough. Diva's is at 1081 Post St, a block north of Geary and a block east of Van Ness. This is near hotels 5, 12 and 17 on the map, but I doubt I'd want to stay in that area (but things may have improved, I don't know).

As far as down the peninsula, I would stay just south of South SF, I'm guessing about 15 miles away from the downtown part of SF or even further south, maybe 20 miles. There's a lot of motels along 101 and there may be hotels closer to the bay. But really, I was not trying to impress anyone, so these motels are kind of like what you might find near Ocean Beach in your town.

Thanks, Falrune. You've given me a few starting points to work with, and that's all I needed and wanted. ...I've been there a few times, but always passing through and with not nearly enough time spent there to get to know the area very well. It's a lovely charming city -- one of a kind.

Thank you again. :)

The San Francisco airport is nowhere near San Francisco. It is close to Belmont though. Driving and parking in SF can be done but can be difficult. The Cathedral Hill Hotel in SF is very nice, reasonable and within easy walking distance of Diva's. I usually stay there when I am in SF. There is also a Days Inn and Comfort Inn and a Motel 6 within the immediate area.

Welcome. Just remember, everywhere is pretty easy to get to in SF, especially from downtown, and without a car. Just get to Market Street, and you'll find all the streetcars you need. Below Market Street are terminals for the Bay Area Rapid Transit, which can take you across the Bay and even down the peninsula to-from the airport, it would appear (it didn't do that when I was in SF).

Thanks, Felicia. I wasn't thinking of making Divas a point of reference, or ground zero in my visit, but you have now given me an idea to entertain. :)

Falrune: I usually rent a car whenever I go somewhere (I still get Enterprise discount coupons in the mail), so I'll most likely do it this time also. My last visit there consisted of me and a friend renting a car in San Diego and driving up there to see a 49er game.

By the way, all this bay area talk got me thinking of one of my favorite bands to ever come from the bay area. What a sound.

Thanks, youse two for all your help.
