Hi all, I'm Nia and wish I could be a transexual! I've always felt this way but have been trying to ignore feeling this way and just be a gay man, but it's so hard because no guys want an effeminate male as a boyfriend! And now I'm 27 so basically too late to begin hormones since there will probably be no changes at all! I really don't know what to do I'm so unhappy! Does anyone know if I could still be passable? I do not want to look like a crossdresser!

you can always began hormonal therapy, however since you have going through both sets of hormonal stages (1st - puberty - 12yrs old to 18 yrs, and 2nd - at age 21) it would cost and substantial amount of money to reverse time. for hormonal therapy you can get hormonal implants via Dr. Odea in Los Angelos (hampton clinic 310.481.2245 or www.hamptonlove.com ) his treatment works, and it costs nearly 1,000 dollars for agressive treatment. then, it your not pleased you can see world-reknown Dr. Ousterhoust in San Fransico, he is a cranio-facial specialist. he is rather expensive and will run nearly 20,000-45,000 dollars. if you like his number contact me, cause he only works with the elite. those i have not used him, he is amiable and pleasent. and, his work is astonishing. good luck on what ever path you chose.

katie
email me to let me know how that pans out.

p.s. you can email Ousterhoust your facial pics and he will email you a prospective image that will be desirable.

good luck

dear nia, i completely empathise with your suffering. before i began crossdressing and hormones at 22, i was tormented with the lonliness and sadness of not being able to find anyone to precieve me or romantically love me like a girl. following hormones, i found the most incredible humbling love of my life and got to experience being passable sometimes- yet i still am fraught with melancholy. i feel despite the favorable changes hormones induced, becoming trans and enduring the miracle of romantic love has not appeased my unhappiness. i think you should capitulate to what uve always felt and experience your transition if thats what u want, and if you end up a passable girl with an adoring boyfriend resulting in happiness thatll be neat! but since i am still unhappy, im focusing now on reevaluating priorities n figuring out what truly makes me happy and fulfilled from within my solitude-that wont rely on external acceptance/approval or sexuality or finding relationships. im at a happier unhappiness tho thanks to hormones cuz before i started them i was super unhappy n destructive n dispirited when i appeared more male. dr oday as katie mentioned does good stuff ive heard n seen from his girls. in hawaii all the girls go to rodwell. if u start ur therapy please take lotsa pics so we can see ur fascinating evolution. i earnestly hope this finds u well in better spirits and good luck also on the visit to ur doc.

katiecokks,
The links you provided are very helpful! I appreciate them! I've also heard alot of positive things about Dr. O., although he is very expensive! I guess seeing him is my only option!

I only wish I had started earlier, but I didn't have the self confidence! Now I regret ignoring my feelings! I hate trying to force myself to be a gay man while other gay men reject me for being too feminine. It doesn't make me truely happy anyway.

I want to thank both of you again for taking the time to respond!

btw, xionel, I love Hawaii! I was just visiting a friend in Oahu who lives on a military base with her husband, it's so beautiful there!

I must say "Xionel" that I went to your website and was completely blown away.
Not just by how comprehensive and professional your webite is but by your beauty as well.
It must take a lot of guts to have gone through what you have and I commend you.
I love the format of your website and must say it is the best website ive EVER seen by any transexual.

Does anyone else get turned off when they see TS references in quotes as "girls"? It's a little offensive. If someone did the little quotes thing to me in real life when referring to me as a woman, I would be pissed off. Why is it acceptable online?

I've used the quotes a couple of times and I've wondered if it was offensive. Now that I know for sure I will stop doing it . No offense intended, sorry if I was a "dumbass".

For the record, both Allanah and I have had surgery with Dr Ousterhout. He's the best of the best as far as FFS surgeons go.

hello nia,

i don't think that it is too late for you to begin hrt. of course: the sooner the better, but sometimes one is unable to reach a point in their life to begin the journey. since i live in houston, texas, i can only recommend one physician in town and that is dr. yarish (www.yarishmd.com). he understands the plights of transgenders and caters to female feminization surgeries et al. if you need a free consultation or words of advice, you can contact him & his office.

for the record though, i have many feminine gay friends who have wonderful boyfriends. there is a match for everyone...that is what i believe. you may have a gender dysphoria and it would be good for you to seek some expert advice.

i hope this helps you in getting the necessary information you need in order to make a sound wise decision of your future.
