Pentagon Paid $998,798 to Ship Two 19-Cent Washers

Aug. 16 (Bloomberg) -- A small South Carolina parts supplier collected about $20.5 million over six years from the Pentagon for fraudulent shipping costs, including $998,798 for sending two 19-cent washers to an Army base in Texas, U.S. officials said.

The company also billed and was paid $455,009 to ship three machine screws costing $1.31 each to Marines in Habbaniyah, Iraq, and $293,451 to ship an 89-cent split washer to Patrick Air Force Base in Cape Canaveral, Florida, Pentagon records show.

The Pentagon use to oversee some 30,000 accountants, but don't ask me what they do. As far as this story goes, I'll never complain about a $700.00 toilet seat again. :roll:

Between 1999 and 2005 the Feds have given 1.1 BILLION DOLLARS in Federal Farm Subsidies to DEAD PEOPLE - some for up to 4 years.

One dead guy got $400,000. We pay 25 BILLION DOLLARS a year in subsidies. Some we pay to farmers to produce certain crops - other farmers we pay NOT to grow anything.

That's enough to fund all the waste in Iraq. And if both tax drains were stopped there might be enough money to provide social programs for transsexuals and health care for everybody.

So think about it kids, next time 1/3 of your paycheck disappears in taxes.
