I've never seen a toilet in a shower stall before, is it common in other parts of the world? I suppose it makes cleaning the toilet easier.

My 2000th post, and we will be discussing bidets.

What we are seeing isn't a toilet in a shower stall, but rather a stripped
down version of a bidet.

Bidets are primarily used to wash and clean the external vulva and the
anus, as well as the skin near these areas, including the perineum. After
using the toilet, you would use the bidet or in this case the hose in the
picture to clean yourself. Notice to the left of the picture an empty toilet
paper dispenser.

Bidets are found in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and parts of
Asia, and in some homes in America.

As a matter of fact I've got a rig similiar to the one pictured at my house.

many apartments in Thailand do not have a proper shower stall...rather a toilet and a shower attachment next to it,with a drain in the floor.In fact some dont even have a shower,rather a trashcan w/ water in it...and thats how they bathe.I will say however that Thais are the most hygenic people ive met,showering CONSTANTLY!...before a shoot,after a shoot,before and after sex...u name it...they shower for it.
Many Thais do not use toilet paper rather use mthe shower nozzle to clean themselves.Further throwing toilet paper into the john is considered bad and can cause serious plumbing issues...

Now ya know.

And, that is a toilet in a bathroom. There are many small hotels and aparrtments here in the USA which have bathrooms with a toilet, sink, shower all in one small location as decribed by DJ .

That's exactly how i pictured it in my mind. :)

What about the Telephone over the toilet thing? I notice this in many photos both in Thailand and in Brazil.

In many nice hotels they allow you to chat it up while on the toilet..gives a whole new meaning to "shooting the shit"
