What's going on here with regards to spam filters?

How can one know when it's the real thing (I am loved by some believe it or not, so I have been the recipient of the real ones. :) )?

Has anyone followed through? What, more Cialis or Viagra at the end?

Damn, those things are annoying!

I've received six or seven e-mails saying I have received a greeting card from someone. Most of them I have ignored, but on 2 occasions when I opened them, my virus catched went berserk. Luckily it found all the viruses and deleted them before they caused a problem but it's bloody annoying. :x

I also average 10 mails for viagra and cialis every day. Most get caught by the spam catcher but a couple usually get through. I just delete them.

block the adresses.

NEVER send anything back, not even an insult. by doing so you verify that your adress is correct and be prepared for vanother deluge.

set ur mail preferences to accept only certain known e-mail addies.

never open an e-mail that is of unknown source. i never open anything other than mail from certified sources.

most likely your e-mail addy was in some listing/adress book that got into the hand of some spam-dumbo
