Outside of people like Mos Def, Common and such, are any of today's hip-hop artists making music that's worth listening to? To quote Charlie Murphy, "we've got to do better". People like 50 Cent, Game and the Dip Shits do nothing but perpetuate the worst stereotypes about black people, and yet we don't dare come out and say so, for fear of being thought of as sell-outs, thus perpetuating the cycle by which we continue to be thought of as less than.

Now sit back and watch, as most assuredly one or more of our own will quickly jump up to defend today's crap rap artists, doubtless talking about how "they're just talking about their lives, blah, blah, blah", and otherwise try to justify "music" that amounts to nothing more than the degeneration of what was meant to be a positive art form and a blatant desecration of the sacrifices of previous generations toward gaining equality for all minorities. We're our own worst enemies in that way... and can be counted on to continue to be, because ultimately, we don't really know what it is to "keep it real". Money, cash, hoes, indeed...
