Probably the best scene in film history. Stop being dramatic, Ali, none of us are going anywhere.

lol. *smiles*.

We all have our moments and that film, well, I'm going to have to buy it tomorrow now.

This is a longer clip of the same scene above; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dk70YMVuULg&mode=related&search=

I am however very alone and tired. Seemed poignant. The sum of our lives. What we have achieved. Who we are. What we have not achieved. Fear.

Great scene. Great movie. And, yes, it's my job today to be master of the obvious :)

We have achieved this, this forum. It's one of those bright sparks that happens every once in awhile, and we're all part of it. We're making it happen.

I have to shut up now, before I end up getting myself in trouble.

Like I said, everyone is going to be here tomarrow, and the next day, and the next, and that's a good thing.

A true work of art. The soundtrack by Vangelis gives me spine shivers.

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

How odd that one of the books that had such a major impact on my perceptions of life should be turned into a movie that has so little to do with the book and yet has also had a major impact on my perceptions of life.

Thank you for reminding me, Alison.

I shall have to go buy both tomorrow.

...one of best scenes, yes-but when Edward James Olmos voices, "...too bad she won't live, but then again...who does..." had to have been one of the most effective deliveries of that man's career...Summer of 1982...I went to see the Stranglers open for Roxy Music at the Wilshire Theatre here in LA, that same week...

Christ! Is it that long ago since that movie came out?! I've had it on video for years. Got the Directors Cut, without the out-take out of "The Shining" at the very end. That ending scene never matched the visuals of the rest of the film. It will forever remain in my video collection. The only reason I keep a VCR.

I'll agree with this point...

And yes, it is a great movie.

Love that movie and just recently read the book, which is great and in significant and interesting ways different from the movie. The movie's in my collection. Think I'll pull it out tonight and rewatch it.

Prior to my career as a garden variety pornographer I was actually a pretty established DJ,mostly Goa/Psy trance...basically i created soundtracks for peoples Extacy trips.
One of my CDs culmintes w/ my ripping that scene, running it through a synth, layering in some rainfall anda t parties id spin it and sit back and watch peoples reactions as they were tripping balls when a voice told them it was "Time to die"...love that dark shit!
