View Full Version : This place is never dull...........................

One thing I will say about HA General Discussion is that it is rarely dull. I recently went back to an online chat group I belonged to and after a very very long hiatus figured I'd jump back in and see new members on it, with new things to discuss. What I found was the same old miserable people, bored out of their minds, reliving 6+ year old events to get an LOL out of each other........................ it was pathetic. To make matters even worse, these people pay to use that site; well over $50 per person.

I was surrounded (once again) by the same "I hate men yet I have 3+ kids, my man left me because I whined too much and chased them away" moms, the "yes I'm gay and I'm a faggot in a straight room" single men, and the same pathetic individuals that copied and pasted every word uttered by an individual they didn't like and used it against them in dramatic form to gain an lol or chat group status. Again..................pathetic.

When I left there a few years ago I came here, and you know what? As strange as this might sound to a few of you, I've enjoyed the normalcy of the individuals that wander into this forum OVER the idiocy that I suffered through day to day in that pathetic chat group for years.............

Sometimes you need to go back and see the shit hole you came from to realize where you are is a HELLUVA lot better. For that I thank all of you, even those I sometimes disagree with...................

JW,I used to be admin on a board involving one of my other passions. It's had about 2000 active posting members and another 6 to 8k who posted occasionally.I did it for roughly 6 years.

Even with that many members it was still the same old shit by the same 30-40 people who dominated the board. The only thing that kept me there were some friendships I'd made and the challenge of ferreting out and booting creative trolls.

I found this board last winter and I've got to say it is unique.Once you get beyond the standard porn,"am I gay","big dick" threads, you never know what the Hell folks will be talking about when you come in here? IMO,this is one the more entertaining places I've ran across in years of knocking around the internet.

Nice weather we're supposed to have tomorrow. The local sports team is looking pretty good this year, too. Did you hear that Mike's kid got fourth in state in the wrestling tournament? And Gladys' sweet corn relish got the blue at the state fair. Ain't that always the way?

My neighbor won't mow his grass, what should I do?

Call me old-fashioned, but I'd kill 'em with kindness. You know, they say you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. I'd make sure my tomato vines grow extra tall this summer, and deliver 'em a big ol' bag o' plump, juicy 'maters. Somethin' tells me that they won't need any reminders next summer-- they'll be too busy shoppin' down at Wayne's hardware makin' their garden the best it can be.

My neighbor won't mow his grass, what should I do?
Take him out with a hunting rifle.

You: "I'm gonna take you out with a hunting rifle".
Him: "Thanks neighbour, that's real nice of you, but I only go out with girls".
You: "No, I mean I'm gonna make you sleep with the fishes."
Him: "I don't date animals."
You: "Tonight you dine in Hell".
Him: "Is that the new Greek restaurant on First Street!"
You: "If you don't mow your grass, I'll mow you down!"
Him: "Well, I hope your lawnmower works better than mine"
You: "Die evil neighbour! Die!"

Seriously? I don't know! :D

I do agree with JWBL though. These boards are always interesting. If a little wacky.

I hear ya'.

I belong to a few sites that are well traveled - political and otherwise. I hardly even go to them anymore - same shiat, different day. I get that same feeling here sometimes, but, more often than not, I'm fascinated by the sociological subtext and impact of HA.

This board teeters on greatness when it comes to the trans movement, yet it remains a fun and interesting place to come to. It's not bitter or stale like everyplace else with it cliquish behaviors and false reality. We are reality. We live it, talk about it. And, personally, I'm glad that many in the trans movement shun this board (although they still lurk). We have some great voices and people here that are accepting of all people not just a selective group.

And the greatest thing about this board? The guys connect. Get to know each other. Talk. Share. learn. This is happening nowhere else on the internet or in real life.

So, bravo, to those who started this board and bravo to those who run it and bravo to those who make it such an interesting place to come to.

Svenson? A Swede, eh? You know, I was briefly the king of Sweden, and interestingly enough I just figured out why my elite paratroopers wouldn't jump into Berlin. I hadn't researched the appropriate branch of the amazingly complicated tech tree. The troops were capable of kicking ass, they just didn't know how to get out of the damn planes.

This would make more sense, but I'm afraid that blog is currently gone.

Carry on.

Probably that the board isn't politically correct. The content probably doesn't help much for advancing transsexual rights in the political arena would be my guess.

Surely you jest...

Well, I was actually referring to your apparent confusion of one Scandinavian country for another, Mr King. You don't have to be an expert vexillologist to recognise the difference between the flag of Sweden and that of Iceland. The average European could do it. But then again, that's because unlike you, we know there is a difference.

But fine, you're crap at vexillology too. How's that?

What does this refer to?

As someone else said, that it's not politically correct to some and hence they shun or ignore the people who they, and I stress they, believe are a detriment to the trans movement. Brilliant (sarcasm) strategy that does nothing but divide an already fragile community that is under constant social and legal attack.

Cool.

I hate all those annoying, white middle aged proffesors , who annoint themselves the "spokespeople" for all trans folks. It's really tedius.

But, it's like, do you consider HA to be part of the trans communitty. Most trans folks are like, primarily on here to make a buck, yah? Or do you consider yourselves as to be like, allies to the trans communitty? I mean, besides like partying with girls and stuff. Are you familiar with the Sylvia Rivera Law Project? I know that is based out of new york. Anyways, just curious.
