Will always be a fan of Family Guy...and American Dad for that matter. Have ALL of the DVDs too.

Family Guy can be very funny.
But, as I found when watching the movie, constant barrages of those manatee gags (the cut aways) can be very taxing. I know they are basically the basis of the show, but it just becomes terrible repetitive hearing "Like the time I...".

Personally I like the stuff which is just a total aside, stuff like the chicken suit guy, or talking animals and stuff.
I think that comes form me being a fan of the Young Ones.

It is a VERY American show too. All those constant references to Three's Company et al. are just not as funny to an Australian born in 1987.

The only other issue I have with it is the animation. It's a poor imitation of The Simpsons in that respect. Where as Matt Groening's work showcases the use of subtle changes in detail to convey emotion, Seth McFarlanes work smacks more of a quick solution for a vehicle for comedy.

I do watch it all the time though.
It just is never going to have the emotional depth, and amazing performances that makes the Simpsons so constantly watchable.
